I've suffered from various different forms of depression throughout my life, now I'm 33 and clinically depressed, my life is fucking ruined and all I can do is make peace with it, and continue to suffer in silence every single fucking day, alone, so that the people I care about don't have to feel like shit for failing to keep me alive.

Literally crying while typing this (I don't give a fuck), my dog was ill for so long, we tried a lot to keep him going but it got to the point where he was always tired, didn't react to touch, or sound, it was like he just wanted to walk forever. I was in the middle of my exams, I still remember it so fucking well, I left school, and my brother rang me saying that he found him on the road, not injured but so incredibly disoriented.

He was in tears, crying as well, I knew what he was thinking, I did as well. My mum brought him to the vet, with all of us there, but I couldn't go into the room, I had to stay outside. I couldn't cope with it, I really couldn't. My brothers only described his faces as finally being able to to sleep.

They brought him out and then home, I didn't want him to just be cremated, I wanted him close soo fucking badly....

We buried him in the garden, but while we were digging his grave, the neighbor's dog came over and went over to him, barking then, nosing, then he just lay beside him, he was sitting next to us, as we put him in the ground, and he goes back there everyday.

My dogs meant everything to me, because I had no friends, I was distraught, but then I though, what is this dog feeling, a dogs life is short, arguably mundane, but he was literally his only friend, the only other thing in this universe that acknowledged him (his owners are scumbags).

I had my family, thankfully, but he had no one, in the blink of an eye, the one thing that made his life have meaning, was gone. That still plays on my head, I think about it once or twice a week. All I can think about now, is how much he helped that other dig, how much meaning he put in his life, must have been like dying to that dog.
