NOW GO LET THE LEGEND COME BACK TO LIFE
BEYBLADE METAL FURY IN STORES NOW
>>1283820
I take it that's Kiefer Sutherland?
>>1283810
You can get this to work on FOBs and steal a fuck ton of security that way.
Does anyone have Lustbrador?
>>1283830
Oh fox engine, I love you so much
>>1283771
i played MGS2 for the first time earlier this year, and i almost lost my at shit how ahead of the curve this whole sequence was, and this was over a decade ago
>>1283820
attention whoring faggot

YOU CAN'T TAKE WHAT'S ALREADY LOST
>>1283779
Such a lust for eurobeat!
WHOOOO?!?
>>1294423
I've been a metal gear fan since I was like 9 or 10 playing mgs but for some reason unlike most who got into it early I'm a huge Big Boss fan, Solid is still awesome but I always rooted for bb after mgs3. It's my favorite game series and this scene made me physically upset, I wanted to personally beat that fucking cucks face in with his own leg braces. Venom was way too lenient.
>>1294512
Just imagine he did kill him but then got a time paradox game over screen.
>>1283771
Thanks. I needed this webm to show MGSV babbies how meta is actually done when it's intentional.
Requesting that one webm of the guy in the snake pit while the alert theme plays.
>>1283771
The entire ending to MGS2 justifies Kojima's success more than anything else he's ever done.
>>1283745
I played 3 for the first time a month or so before V came out. I saw this clip before and figured that was supposed to happen and was surprised when it didn't. Is there something you can do to actually make it happen or was this just a joke made by the devs?
>>1295071
>>1283805
>"You're acting pretty smug considering I'm the one that shot your eye out in the first fucking place, Snake."
>>1299543
Like a DAMN fiddle
>>1299555
It's part of the metal gear solid 3: subsistence game. Its part of the joke section where it shows clips like these its pretty funny to be honest.
>>1299566
Thanks famalam
>>1299558
nice
>>1299545
>Now THIS is a fight!
>>1294512
That's why Huey being the bad guy was so brilliant. The cannon requires that you do nothing. This scene was so fucking perfect.
>>1283771
It's unsettling how predictive this was.
>>1293426
thanks for the laugh
>>1299546
why can't i stop laughing
>>1283771
Literally memes! I got into memetics cause of this game.
>>1299546
that's pretty good
>>1299546
I'm your huckleberry.
>>1300914
its because of his reactions when you bring fulton someone "he's coming along too?" "you're bringing him??" when lots of the game takes place in africa so you're bringing in a lot of black guys.
>>1294512
By sparing him, you literally allow him to get cucked to death. 10/10
>>1301008
It's hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh noon
>>1283823
This is from the Chip and Ironicus LP, right?
>>1283830
This is what I wanted the new berserk game to be like.
>>1299614
Kazuhira "Fulton a black, and you're not coming back" Miller at it again!
>>1301879
amusing
>>1295071
but MGSV literally carries on the message of MGS2.
Venom Snake IS a meme. He's a memetic clone.

hahahahaha kek
>>1299555
Look up "secret theater" when the game where on ps2 there was one for 2 and mgs 3.

does anyone know what track is playing in the background during this conversation? I'm not sure it's on the mgs2 soundtrack
>>1299546
some one has way way too much time on their hands.

I dodged a bullet not buying this anime tier garbage
>>1326896
You could just shoot Quiet and never have that scene.

>multiple playthroughs on every game on highest difficulty, if available
>big boss emblem in mgs4
i pirated 5 a few months after release and never finished the story.
even rising was way better than this shit
Does anyone know where I can download voice clips from MGSV? I want to make something.

Those aren't fiddles, and the images have been flipped horizontally. That, or they're pictures of a 'left handed' instrument, meaning it's strung in the opposite direction and the chinrest is placed on the opposing side. But I'm left handed, and those kinds of instruments are fucking retarded.
I'd wager it would be the former. Look at the pegs.
Also those bows don't have any hair or were cropped stupidly.

>>1328581
holy shit thanks for this amazing information I had no idea!!!
Why were most of the arm attachments so useless?
>>1330953
99% was useless. you need :
silenced stun pistol
silenced sniper/long range weapon for cheese
machine gun for rambo
literally everything else falls under pointless/useless/gimmick/stretch-the-game catergory.
>>1332184
Not true.
Simply take the hand of jehuty with you and then you truly need nothing else.
>>1328549
Ain't I killed ya before?
>>1330953
ROCKET PUNCH is the best weapon in the game.
How many games have the openworld reddit fags ruined now? Just in the past year I can think of MGSV and the new Mirror's Edge.
>>1332184
Gee anon, it's almost like the game gave you options how to play it, instead of having legend of zelda style must have items to advance in the game.
Besides you need no items to complete the game.
>>1283830
While I love the game we got, I'm so sad that we didn't get this one.

not to mention his genuine lack of respect for the people he works with.

there's not another mind like him in videogames, but if he weren't such an ass i'd imagine people would like him a lot more
>>1299552
hehe
>>1341770
I think Kojima created his fantasy world just so he could be rescued by big burly men
>>1332851
sad thing, the game doesnt even allow you to go without guns.
All this options, hundreds of weapons, four different buddies, vehicles if you want them, helicopter support+airstrike for the big bombs.
But i cant fucking choose to just take a pistol, or go "naked" into the mission.
>inb4 you can just not use the weapons
sure, still it takes a bit of enjoyment from the game.
>>1344941
Well with water pistol and grade 1 ak you are basically naked. I've also heard that infinite heaven mod has subsistance mode for all missions.

>All rhetoric to avoid conflict and protect each other from hurt. The untested truths spun by different interests continue to churn and accumulate in the sandbox of political correctness and value systems. Everyone withdraws into their own small gated community, afraid of a larger forum. They stay inside their little ponds, leaking whatever "truth" suits them into the growing cesspool of society at large. The different cardinal truths neither clash nor mesh. No one is invalidated, but nobody is right. Not even natural selection can take place here.

You rescue kojimbo as venom, who is a player's self-insert. Player rescues kojimbo from konami and ultimately mgs, just as he always wanted, by thrashing the incomplete game, which sold well but still is a disaster and finished this man's involvement in mgs for good. Bravo.
>>1328610
well it would have been anoying to cut the enemies so easily
>>1354827
Well with fox sword you'll do exactly that without looking clunky and slow. And with blade mode you cut normal soldiers anyway in any situation.

>was not designed to be continued
>ends every fucking game with a post-credits cliffhanger to bait the sequel.
I think the term 'was actively designed not to be continued' is a major stretch. 'actively designed' is not the same as 'i watched a pretty convincing youtube video'.
i don't think you realised that the theme of the game is to make observations and decisions yourself rather than accepting the narrative that has been fed to you.
>>1355935
The ENTIRE POINT of the ending of MGS2 is that you don't know what's real and what is an illusion created by the Patriots, and then questioning if the answer to that question really matters. Continuing that story in MGS4 actively cheapens the best ending in the series by telling you exactly what was real and what wasn't. Plus MGS4 makes both endings of MGS1 cannon, which makes no sense.
That's putting aside the fact that Kojima knew this and desperately asked Konami to let him end the series with MGS3, and they said no.
>>1356339
>Plus MGS4 makes both endings of MGS1 cannon, which makes no sense
IIRC, they weren't exactly mutually exclusive. It's not like Otacon dies if you save Meryl.
Only 1-2 years more and people will praise MGSV like they praise MGS2.

>inb4 he got cucked by his son

>>1283771
Fucking hell Kojima
>>1356339
>>1356397
yeah dude like anon says, the endings of MGS1 aren't mutually exclusive.
though canon end is save meryl, otacon stays behind.
yeah you're not supposed to know what's real or not but it's not like the mystery is somehow inherently better than having a definite answer.
a lot of those things are placed specifically to fuck with you.
it doesn't fuck with mgs2's ending, it just continues the story. again, they baited a fucking sequel with the post-credits ocelot call, like they always fucking do.
it's not supposed to 'end' at raiden seeing rose after killing solidus.
that fucking phone call makes it pretty clear what's real and what isn't. we see events that are from a point of view that isn't raiden's, so the only parts where we can assume there's any kind of mystery to its validity are those where raiden is our viewpoint character, and ONLY those points.
>>1348527
You know this is not a new idea or even an uncommon theme, right?
Do you only get your ideas from videogames?
>>1343451
>japanese
Is anything negative said about japan's involvement in ww2 in the series? Cos I remember in peace walker, kaz basically shits on the US for dropping the bomb but neglects to mention WHY it was dropped. And in MGS 2 raiden's name was picked cos of some link to kamikaze pilots.
>>1365931
Kaz is basically a gigantic weeaboo because he grew up in japan; him being salty for the nips isn't too surprising in and of itself.
>>1366369
I guess, but it kinda feels like some japanese writer airing out past ww2 grievances. I don't think I've heard anything negative about japan's military in the series. Though I've only played 1, 2, 4, PW.
>>1366433
The primary problem with that is that the Nip military is essentially nonexistent in the entirety of the series.
Apart from Kaz's backstory and the fact that Kojima felt like turning Raiden's name into a bad bilingual pun, there's basically no nipshit whatsoever.
>>1348527
fuck you for reminding me of that fucking pachinko machine.
God damn I feel am getting mad just remembering it is a thing.
>>1366433
>I've only played 1, 2, 4, PW

Funny, that song works pretty well with MGS3, with the downfall of Snake, the "son" of the Boss and all.
:/
>>1366006
hey, this is pretty good
>>1328653
nigger you can still play MGSV like a proper MGS game if you gimp yourself like crazy and actually take the time to stealth without cheesing
PW is also very different, the actual "game" part is super barebones, stealth is easy af, codec doesn't exist and you have to listen to tapes in the menu before missions, all the base management shit, etc
>big boss emblem in mgs4
i'm trying this rn. any tips? i'm near the end of act 2 and i'm not sure if i'll be able to do it in time. i'm not getting the dolls because defeating the beasts non-lethally simply takes too much time and you don't get enough ammo for all the bosses
>>1283805
>that snake eating grin.

This is what happens when you only have 1 game for your console. You break the barrier of being 'really good' to being a god. You know all the rules of the world like the back of your hand. It's like a reflex. I got the same way with Hitman Blood Money. Pretty sure I would have been able to compete with world speedrunners when I was playing that game

DELET THIS ;_;
I've never played any of the metal gear games and I finally have some time to play some over the winter break. Is the newest one the best place to start?
>>1404513
Fuck no. Try getting the Legacy Collection for PS3. If not, emulate 1 and continue in release order from there. MGS3: Subsistence (which comes with the collection) contains Metal Gear 1 and 2, the original Metal Gear games. Playing those along with Snatcher (Sega CD) and Policenauts (Sega Saturn) will give you a good idea about Kojima's game design and writing background. If you dig his storytelling you can read these later:
http://metagearsolid.org/classic-articles/ (structural analysis of the stories)
http://www.deltaheadtranslation.com/MGS2/DOTM_TOC.htm (essay on MGS2)
http://junkerhq.net/index.php (nice fan website, includes another analysis on MGS2's ending)
>>1404513
Also disregard everything that isn't directed by Kojima when talking about the story, he wasn't involved in those games at all and they aren't regarded as canon by him ( http://thesnakesoup.org/myth-articles/myth-hideo-kojima-said-portable-ops-rising-canonical/ ). They are: the two NES titles, Ghost Babel, Portable Ops, Ac!d, Rising: Revengeance (contrary to popular belief, he only did the advertising for this game as a producer). I might have missed some but it's not hard to check if he's there or not. The gameplay quality of the ones I already mentioned is another story, if you care enough play them for yourself.
>>1404602
PO is the one that's arguable. I don't think he's ever given a definitive statement about it.
I think it sucked ass so I'd prefer to ignore it anyway.
>>1403217
what the hell? Is this the mgs3ds thing?
>>1404935
Pachinko machine.
Now forget about it and stop asking questions.
>>1404957
Idc, everything past 2 was supplemental I'm still glad it lasted as long as it did. Just looks like it's based on 3ds rendition of mgs3. Didn't play it but the aesthetic is changed in weird little ways.
>>1404513
Best to start with either mgs1 (pc version) metal gear 2 (not solid, msx2 emulation) . If you don't really have a "taste" for series after both of those just stop. It's all kinda of elaboration on similar themes and if you don't like the baser material you won't like what comes later. 3 made a lot of people come over to the series who would have otherwise ignored it but people who started with 3 didn't understand the sort of magical realism of the series before or after that. So yeah play in release order. Metal gear 1 is very basic and you could probably be summed up in a paragraph or two. Metal gear 2 while similar in it total contribution introduces a lot of stuff that's continually referenced throughout the series.
>>1404602
disregard this. There's no bad games with the mgs franchise except for "metal gear 2: snake's revenge" if you even consider that part of the franchise. They're all "good games" in respect to being worth the time invested.
>>1404994
The only reason I don't regret playing Portable Ops and PW is that I'm a completionist and that I needed to know what they were like.
>>1299546
I am wet
>>1405042
I have not regrets about either I genuinely enjoyed scouting out soldiers for my base and switching between boxed solider in PO to attack a base from other angles. I even enjoyed PO+. Only thing bordering on a regret is that I invested so much time in PW before the HD because I had accepted there were never be more than ad-hoc. 100%'d PW twice... might do it again.
>>1405059
I said that was the only reason I -didn't- regret playing them.
I thought they were sub-par.
>>1405149
I have not regret about either. * There was suppose to be a period there. I can see now how it's misleading.
>>1404753
See image.
>>1404994
I never said they were bad games, I said he should disregard them when talking about canon.
>>1405583
PW is canon and parts of PO are too. Kojima essentially shifts the canon with every release. I can't think of a series more guilty of retconning.
>>1405601
What the fuck? I never said PW isn't canon, it definitely is considering Kojima directed it. Read this: http://thesnakesoup.org/myth-articles/myth-hideo-kojima-said-portable-ops-rising-canonical/
San Hieronymo is PO.
