I bet they're budgeting for next week, I noticed whenever crazy shit is a about to happen in terms of animation, there's more lingering shots and similar time/money saving things anime often does. Especially noticable in the first few minutes of the second to last episode of battle tendency, and before Dio and Jotaro start fighting. If anything it's a reason to get hype, they blew their load on the good shit.

Honestly, Part 3 is the weakest in terms of original writing *and* the anime adaptation; an already meh enemy-of-the-week manga is adapted into a series that's about twice as long as it needs to be, especially once they reach Egypt and start wasting multiple fucking episodes per crappy baddy sent after the heroes.

Seriously, boring main cast + neutered returning cast + enemy-of-the-week format + random bullshit = ded hype. I suffered through Part 3, skipped about 40% of the episodes when watching it with a friend, and would honestly recommend just skipping the entirety of Part 3 after the first few episodes where Stands are explained. Only episodes that really jump out as being decent are The Empress, Vanilla Ice, and the final showdown with DIO.

Most of the Egyptian Gods did nothing except very temporarily delay the party, and their introduction and defeat added nothing to the story. A good number of the Tarot Cards were the same (for some reason, I feel that The Sun was the worst offender and the one that sticks out the most as being a waste of an episode).

Compare this to the villains in Part 1 and Part 2, where every antagonist had some sort of impact on the story. They either moved the plot along or revealed new information or acted as a catalyst for the protagonist's evolution or something. That 70% filler claim is an exaggeration, but I would bet you can cut out at least a third to a half of the enemies from Part 3 and have no holes in the plot at all.
