I feel like I'm drifting through life, with no real purpose but to enjoy. But it seems like enjoying it is actually really sort of impossible. The things that I enjoy, like staying up late on 4chan, watching anime, and playing video games, are discouraged and frowned upon, and in the long run they don't make me happy. Yet the things that make me happy, like working out, talking to people, and improving my life, are the things i hate doing the most.

I can relate a lot to this, though I have somewhat different issues. For me, the options that I have to change my life are all scary, daunting and equally undesirable. The idea that the way to solve what I considered to be my problems was to solve my problems is not something difficult to grasp. Now, to act on this is something beautiful and terrible in its simplicity. You just have to do it. Whatever the "it" is that is killing you from not doing it. Try to develop your willpower. Deliberately do things you hate. Take cold showers, run, eat vegetables without any dressing. Go to an open mic night without any preparation and make a fool of yourself. Fart in public. Just do it. People with your experiences (in my completely unbiased opinion) tend to be more full, interesting, and... eh fuck it do what you like.
