The Last Airbender, despite being technically split up into 3 parts, is one story told fully with properly paced arcs and a unified purpose. 1st season Korra had a pretty well defined cast, all the main characters were tropes, but well done tropes. They were like the ATLA cast in book 1, but Korra ended up being a completely different story every season. The cast should have all grown to some final end point, but the disjointed plots made that impossible. The character in Korra are mushed into the plot where they can fit, not where they belong, as a result you have characters like Mako, who in the beginning seemed important, ending up to just be a glorified side kick. Korra on the other hand, had to have a life shattering event every season, so that she doesn't get *too* competent. Aang never had this problem because he never grew faster than his enemies. At first he's fighting some nobody prince at the edge of the world, by the end he's fighting Fire Lord Ozia at the height of his power. This is characteristic of the ATLA, its always building characters up to something. Korra spends half its time tearing apart the characterization its already done, at least thats how it feels to me.

Frontier has always been my favorite. I know it's basically the black sheep/red-headed step child of the Digimon Series(and might have been the precursor to the downfall of the franchise) but it was always my favorite, and the one I tuned into Jetix for. Even now getting older, as I learn more about religion and magic structures, I keep figuring out more and more stuff about it.

Funny story, as far as I've connected, Frontier kinda represents the fall of Shintoism and the rise of Christianity in Japan. It also has some small parallels to the rise and fall of the Samurai ruling class.
