To 'drift' a FWD car, look into powersliding.

Put more wordy, drifting is a process that requires intentionally allowing the back of the car to go faster than the front. This is only possible with RWD or a modified AWD or 4WD. You can cause a FWD to fishtail, which has a similar appearance to drifting, but there is no real benefit to doing so, besides looking like an asshole. Even in actual street racing, drifting is mainly a show-off of driving technique, but the excuse is that it puts your car's power in line against centripetal force, thus allowing you to get back to speed faster after leaving a turn. It also has the theoretical benefit of preventing your car from flipping when taking a sharp turn at high speed.

Basically, unless you intend to take part in underground street races and have a lot of money to burn on your car, don't bother thinking about drifting as anything more than a video game maneuver to cut corners.

It is RC, im not into it anymore, but ill give you ~5 year old info, you need a 4wd rc, rwd and fwd will not work, well potentially rwd can work but its nearly impossible to control, but i digress, you get a 4wd rc, put pvc/abs/any kind of plastic around the wheels so you have little traction and away you go.

For cheap Cars the TL-01 and TT-01 by tamiya were good when i was looking, but the scene was /somewhat/ new then so theres probably cheaper stuff now.


Aside from that any extra info is just stuff for enthusiasts, for example going to a brushless motor, good battery, and replacing the plastic covered tyres with very hard rubber tyres, its a completely different experience with rubber tyres. But the ones in the vid are hard plastic tyres such as pvc or abs
