The problem is I'm old enough to remember times where social conservatives pulled the same shit, where they felt perfectly fine dictating the matters of people's private lives because they felt a sanctimonious imperative to do so and self-appointed themselves to the position.

Mike Pence represents the absolute worst parts of the Republican establishment. That neo-conservative, hawkish, corporation worshiping elite married to backwards anti-intellectualism.

This is why progressives keep winning despite their horrific bullshit, because their opposition in this country insists on courting the views of senile religious retards.

A strong Republican party that can take their better ideas while also abandoning the stupid ones and having the courage to face problems head on would absolutely slaughter the mealy mouthed, platitude-spouting Democrats in future elections and for a while it looked like Trump might actually be that despite his own personal failings. Lately however it's looking more and more like the GOP has finally started to win over in transforming him into just another of the establishment rank and file.

Regardless of Trump's rhetoric on Mexicans, it's apparent having an open and porous border with Mexico is a bad thing. It allows the free movement of illicit drugs, weapons and human trafficking. Having a hard bulwark on the US border to curb those things would help improve Mexico's troublesome states as much as the US' southwest.

The Black crime rate is the reason cops are extra cautious around them, why they pay undue attention to them and profile them.
