Does anyone know what happens to bulls that manage to kill the matador? Do they get their wounds treated and put out to breed, or are they just killed anyway? I know it's incredibly rare (last time a matador died during the event was in 1985 or something?) but there must be some kind of procedure for it.

If they're just killed anyway that seems a bit unfair. Removes any idea of contest or competition between man and beast and basically just becomes an unnecessarily complex and inefficient slaughtering process.
