There were only a handful of oil firefighters at the time and they mobilized from all over the world to go to Kuwait. It was speculated it could take between 5-10 years to stop all of the fires but they did it in 9 months.

If you think about it, it makes sense.
Normal cameras have a fraction of a second to take int he light they need to make one frame. Slomo cameras have a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a second to do the same thing so they take in significantly less light.
The fact that the explosion shows up as pure white is just a testament to how fucking bright nukes are.
