IMO they're not very good at all anymore. It's obvious he really doesn't like making them anymore, and he' said many times in other videos offhandedly that he's burnt out. Hell, even in his Mega Man episode he seems to be hinting at wanting to stop them for awhile.
If I had to guess, he probably still makes them to keep bread on the table since his other videos only get a fraction of the views (which is still a decent amount, FWIW)

Then again, a lot of people still like them, so maybe I'm just blinded by the good old days.

The thing about MADs is that they clearly use longer samples, often full length words and even entire sentences, at least when it's done for anime waifus. YTMPs usually just use a sample that's a few millisecond long just to get a tone which is then pitch corrected to replicate a song.
