I used to be way more bothered with it than i am now, but eventually you just gotta accept that most OPs and quite a few EDs (although generally slower paced) are gonna have to be tiny and/or shit quality at 1:30 or longer.
It's not really a matter of doing a poor job, it's just working with what you're given.

Spoonfeeding is a problem that's easily taken care of in a way that isn't being a piece of shit and kills discussion. Like I can't even begin to tell you how many books I've read across a ton of genres but I run out of authors that I know are good/books I'm pretty sure I'm interested in, and it's nice to be able to ask for some ideas of authors to look into which can start a discussion that goes in pretty awesome directions.

I still stop and check in occasionally, but it's complete garbage and just getting worse.

Still, instead of just asking, why don't go through the anime in whatever categories you like, read the plot synopsis and give some different anime a try?
Do some research instead of asking here, you'll find stuff you might like that would never get recommended.

Most people go by the three episode rule.
If you don't like it by the third episode, drop it.

Those threads are literally nothing like what I'm looking for. I'm actually pretty damn sure that there's not what I want...probably a cultural thing. Japanese just don't seem as interested in the idea of exploration, or at least depicting it in their entertainment that I've managed to find. You'll notice what I asked about was pretty damn specific regarding tone and theme and not "hey what's a good anime?" -- which also, incidentally isn't that good of a question for a full thread, but w/e.
