So often I meet people who get very insistent that I really need to simply enjoy hot sunny days more because rain is just too depressing.

i don't have anything to post but i want to share something

i live on a tall house which is almost on the top of a hill, it is the highest part of the city, from my windows i can see the whole city as well as forests and hills beyond the other side of the city

i have always been fascinated by the beauty of the rain, and i think it's beauty is magnificent in that you can not only see it, but hear, smell and feel it

when i was a kid, everytime it rained in the night and i woke up, i'd tip toe to the living room, pick up a chair, silently place it next to the window sill, open the window and sit there for long times or until the rain stopped

it was the beautiest thing to see the rain fall over the city, to hear it's sound as it hit the house, the trees, objects in the garden, to smell that pleasant scent of the earth and to feel deep in my spirit the wonder of nature

i haven't done this ever again in many, many years, times change, i am an adult now, too many responsibilities, too many things to worry about, but i never forgot those feelings, i never forgot the peace of mind and unexplainable happiness and joy the rain brought to my heart, even the howling of the wind was pleasant to me, made me feel grateful and happy to be alive
