For the record, that wasn't even the full video. The camera continues to record sound but the screen is dead. I left it out because it turns into ear rape and then silence, with only the intermittent sound of shit falling from the sky and hitting the ground.

Glowing mushrooms.

Why do they glow, by the way? Is there any tactical advantage to mushrooms for glowing?
>>
>>1078443
>Why do they glow, by the way?
Chemical reaction.

>Is there any tactical advantage to mushrooms for glowing?
"The bioluminescent glow is like a neon advertising sign; in the case of mushrooms, it's meant to attract insects that can then spread the mushrooms' spores and allow them to reproduce and spread."
http://www.techtimes.com/articles/40972/20150320/wonder-why-mushrooms-glow-in-the-dark-scientists-explain-their-bioluminescence.htm

Take it for what you will, because the article starts out with this 10/10 sentence:
>Most mushrooms grow in the dark, but some also glow in the dark

Fuck and California recently released a bunch of goats to eat dried brush to prevent wild fires...little do they know those goats will do like deer do and the land will be atripped of vegetation and when it rains, mudslides will happen.

Call me crazy? Goats were introduced to catalina island by the spanish to use as a food source and eventually the goats almost destroyed tge island so the US navy had to bomb the goats with battleships and dive bombers!

I was working on the TX/NM border ~13 months ago when a microburst rolled in. Heaviest hail storm I've ever been in. It hailed so hard my 65k work truck was totaled. Just think of it this way: the molecules in the liquid attract each other, that's why it's a liquid and not a gas. For a molecule in the middle of a droplet that means it's pulled in all directions at once, so it kind of cancels out. For a molecule on the surface, though, the only neighboring molecules that could attract it are in the inwards directions, so that's where it gets pulled.

Don't worry, insects like most arthropods shells are made of chitin whereas mammalian cell membranes are made of a phospholipid bilayer.

Cordyceps fungi has a unique method for atttacking the chitin of insects, they don't have a method for attacking mammalian cells.

Plus even if the spores were to get into your bloodstream they'd not be able to pass the blood-brain barrier.

Technically speaking, anything, everything, something and nothing is always natural, there is no such thing as the supernatural or unnatural, or abnormal.

If its there, it's mother fucking there and its a naturally occurring thing and you have to accept it.

That also includes any and all mental illnesses and imagined things and concepts, because they're natural, not AS natural as anything, they simply ARE natural, and that's literally it.

tl;dr Nature = Deal with it.

The video proves that a cordyceps/zombie apocalypse scenario is dealt with most efficiently by a societal quarantine, just as the ants did by immediately removing any symptomatic members as far from their colony as possible. Individual survivalists are not humanity's best hope -- well-disciplined colonies are.

Which is why in every apocalypse movie it's always some individualist asshole from a colony who fucks over the defenses and gets everyone killed. Once those kinds of people start showing symptoms, i.e. acting like self-entitled assholes, they need to be expelled.
>>
>>1089413

It's because a tsunami has enormous wavelength as well as altitude, so it tends to look like the water just swells in very rapidly instead of cresting like a wall. It's unnoticeable to anyone in the open ocean except with stationary measuring equipment.

You can find vids of giant cresting waves 30-60ft high on youtube, but they don't come in isolation, and they need too much water volume to crest close enough to shore to cause land damage (though sometimes they can). They're now famous for being the target of big-wave surfing.

By letting it flood it'll preserve the crystals so that they can study them again when tech and theory improve (which they will in our lifetimes). Better study your science/engineering/hvac/journalism/spanish now if you want to try to get your ticket to see it when it next opens up.
