Yes. Hyperion and the Squadron Sinister were Marvel's take on the Justice League quite like DC's own Crime Syndicate (evil alternate universe JLA).

Even when the more heroic Squadron Supreme came along they took a heavy handed approach to crime. Things went full circle when the Squadron Supreme's storyline was kind of replicated by that Justice League episode featuring the Justice Lords...DCAU's replacements for the Crime Syndicate.

The movie is a civil war because Bucky, and it's very few people, I think the Russos could have pulled it off way better as a fifth Avengers movie, instead of rushing it in response to BvS.

And? The overall structure is still VERY similar to literally any of the Mahvel flicks. It doesn't help that apparently, Deadpool is aware he's in a stereotypical hero story yet still doesn't know the girl is gonna want his dick anyway, even if he looks like pizza diavola. And things like the intro calling collossus an ugly CGI monster don't really help at all, it doesn't make them look self-aware, it's more like "oh hey, we have that, like the other movies, but we admit it". Most versions are all evil, but recently in Marvel comics Hickman wrote him to be more heroic, as the multiverse was collapsing, Hyperion was able to hold off an alternate Earth from crashing into his own, then he grew a beard and was total bros with Thor.

Now days Hyperion is part of the freshest incantation of the Squadron Supreme and are hero'ing it up in 616 after they killed Namor for helping blow up a shit ton of realities, Hyperion actually has his own comic ongoing right now where he's traveling around as a truck driver for a disguise and helping some teen girl and her dog run away from a crazy cult made up of mad max inspired clowns.
