I'm new to Linux and KDE has been great so far.
Very simple desktop, but looks good enough.
I'd like more tips for making it look better, I'm trying to make it kinda cyberpunky and dark which feels really comfy for me.

OP's desktop looks really cool for me too, I love Win9x style and Lain really does go well as a wallpaper.

Also, unrelated... how do I stop ibus from ending itself all the time? ( that keyboard button is so I can reset the ibus-daemon when it stops working ). It works fine in Unity :q

A shade of blue would be the obvious decision to make it fit with the color scheme. Or if you wanted to experiment maybe you could try with some green since it's the opposite of red? In general I would say try using a cool color instead of putting two warm colors together.

Where is your search functionality? If your search function is bound to some hot key, then you've failed the UX.

Your default icons look like ass in your task bar as well as your wannabe bitmap font is blurry as fuck, most likely the result of you not setting it to the correct px size it was originally made for. Battery edges look blurry as fuck too. Music portion has no fucking idea what it's purpose is and I don't think you do either.
