Just download the Bash on Ubuntu On Windows thing (look up how to do this), then you can download the music player "moc" (you may have to configure PulseAudio for this), and then just download ConEmu and setting up the colours and shit is simple - you can get any terminal-based Linux program with sudo apt-get install (x), but keep in mind it may not always work like you want it to - there are a lot of crazy workarounds involved in my set up.

Eh, I personally think it just looks like Windows with a strange colour scheme. You're obviously free to run Linux, like I'm not, so make the most of it with a cool WM or something. Or at least personalise Plasma a bit, non default fonts, icons etc.

Rule of thumb for you: if you have to ask what browser it is, it's probably Firefox. Ask for the CSS instead.
Look up Stylish for Firefox and then go to town with custom CSS if you want.

priority #1 find a better color scheme. just mess around with it and figure out what works. ricing windows 10 isnt easy because it's still new and one of the only good theme makers died so you're pretty much stuck making a moko clone. dont be afraid to make a moko clone. copying others is a good way to learn.

There's built in themes which can be accessed at the bottom right (Tomorrow being one of the dark themes) or you could use browser extensions like Stylish .

Linux might not necessarily add battery life to your laptop, but it will definitely run faster and more reliably.

The reason it won't add battery life is because it doesn't come stock with "power saver mode" power profiles like Windows does, that nukes processing power and stuff in exchange for life.

I recommend Linux Mint because it's the easiest and most gratifying switch from Windows you can experience. It comes with everything you'll need.
