>steering wheels - Nobody is allowed to drivve in the future!
Just wtf are you talking about trollface
If you actually bothered to do some research, Stalenhags art is based in an "alternative 80s" - hence why there is a nicely drawn big bumper Volvo 140 sat next to a Matrix style hover ship.
Narrow minded? I suggest you included yourself in that remark
and, if this is "shitty" lets see some of your work to critic you fathead fuck.

Holy shit these are all so good.
Why isnt there a movie based off Simon's art yet?

He's referencing, as far as I know, "Imperial Earth" by Arthur C. Clarke, in which the people on Earth are not allowed to drive cars at all manually by penalty of law.
same idea, only 6 decades earlier in time

Unsure if there's any particular story to these particular images, but Simon Stålenhag made a lot of art to go with his table top role playing game, Tales from the Loop.

Observation on this set. I've been following Stalenhag's work for a while now, and I just realized, Annika (the girl in those pictures) is the same girl as the current series he's doing, walking around with the small robot following everyone's death by their VR helmets. She wears the same track pants and has the same hairstyle.
Still don't get what happened to her boyfriend, but this short story spoke to me enough for me to have one of those pictures as a wallpaper for months now. Planning on buying one of the books, however apparently stories are explained in there, and I'm not sure I want to ruin the ones I invented myself.
I'm getting a sort of S.T.A.L.K.E.R./borderlands/evangelion/half-life vibe, sickkkkkk duuuuuuude
Anyone have an upload of all this shit on MEGA?
I've never saved so many images from one thread, thanks a lot swefriends and other anons.
As an FYI, many of the images here look just like artwork from a board game called scythe. Could be worth checking out that art, and also the game, it's probably the most fun and complex board game I've played. This image pretty much sums up the game, believe it or not.

I read Tales From the Loop.
The vignettes of text add a nice layer to the worldbuilding. They read like a memoir, but still leave some things to the reader's imagination.
The "we have to talk about Annika" set is in Things From The Flood, I haven't read that one yet.
I love this thread.
This man's work makes me cum. I need to buy some prints. They're beautiful.
I need a movie or game based on his art.
The world is really fascinating.

I get this weird feeling looking at this scene of the future that im not supposed to be there looking at this place because i have died hundreds of years ago
FUCKING GREAT ARTIST.
>>6927919
It would go against the message his art is trying to convey. Why not enjoy it for what it is?
>>6917590
everything points towards these being swedish, punk
a lot invoke amazing stories just bubbling up in my head and having me missing a past from a life i've never even lived. Beautiful
I'm going to download almost everything in this thread because so much of it is awesome.
This guy turns me on
This artist is amazing.
wish I had something to contribute, but it'll have to suffice to bump the thread instead
these are all great

Just because somebody says their drawings of cool shit are supposed to be bad things doesn't mean I have to agree with them.
Looks like scythe? Hmm...could it possibly be because these paintings were the *inspiration* for scythe's art and minis? Maybe the author actually mentions this in the manual, on the kickstarter page, openly in dozens of interviews? Nah, that'd be crazy.
