I like notification bars but I don't know how to make it look good.

I'm finally trying to redesign my homescreen after a few months of it being broken due to a bug in KLWP that just won't get fixed, and I'm trying to use a lot of animations. Emphasis on trying, since it's a total bitch to do, apparently.

Right now, I want a pair of over lapping objects to scale up when tapped, and then scale down when tapped again. The problem is if I move them away from the anchor point, they fly off screen when scaling. I tried to fix it by just putting them in a group so that I could effectively make my own anchor point, but then only one of the object would actually work properly, despite there being no difference between the two except for size. So then I tried having two groups, with one object in each group, which got me working animations, exactly how I wanted them. However, for reasons only known to God and those who huff large quantities of paint, tapping the top object/group will not fucking toggle the variable to scale the objects, but the bottom object will.

I tried making it so tapping the top group would trigger it, and it didn't work. I tried making the object in the group trigger it, and that also failed. I tried having both do it, and guess what, that also didn't work. The bottom group, with identical settings, works just fine though.

To top it all off, everything's fine in the editor. It works exactly as it should, until I actually try to use it on my homescreen. It's like it's just fucking taunting me with how close it is to working, and it just won't.

So, does anyone know a fix for this, or am I just fucked?

I tried removing everything but the bottom object, and it turns out that touching the large version of it specifically where the smaller version wasn't (they're circles, so the outer portion of the expanded circle) will work properly, but if I touch where the smaller version was before it expanded, then it won't work.

When it's not expanded, I also can't trigger the animation.

Okay, I actually just figured out part of the problem. I have the anchor for the groups set to the bottom, and then I moved the groups down to be partially off screen. The touch trigger doesn't seem to be able to be able to go low enough (it stops around the top third of the circle, despite more of it being visible below that). When the circle is small, it's below where the trigger ends, preventing it from working.

So, to go back to finding a solution, is there a way to scale an object from its own center?

I've got it working now, but my restore point that I had created before deleting everything to test stuff got overwritten, so now I get to recreate everything
