Reminds me of my hometown back in the bay area, some serious nostalgia tight there. Worst part is that nothing was really going wrong, we were about to be 7 hours apart and I'll never be able to see her because I'm busting my ass at a new job where I really have to perform well

Grew up in Lafayette, family moved to wc after I went to uni. I'm about to start a full time in Chicago so I'm not sure when I'll be back out on the west coast, hopefully sooner rather than later. Hell of a place to grow up

growing up in the east bay is definitely special to me. i'm currently in school in wa so i've been going home once a year or so. makes me realize how important family is :(

also coming home to my car and traversing the twists and turns of the hillside roads with the views of the bay out the window is pretty priceless

All i got to say is look on the positive side you now have time to focus on yourself as a person and grow without having to worry about another person holding you back or worrying about their feelings either, you have more time to explore who you are and where you want to be with no restrictions at all, and i may sound cheesy or whatever but there's always better not just looking but quality.

I don't know if there's anything I liked more than driving up grizzly peak road around sunset and looking back at the bay covered in that gorgeous sunset. I had some great photos of it that made it into my school's yearbook, but they were lost when my old pc died and the hard drive was wrecked. This one kind of reminds me of some of the shots I used to take around the city, a buddy and I used to take a saturday once in a while and just run around the city all day taking pictures with these old d3100's we got used from a camera store

i did the same thing you did recently, buying a used nikon d3400 and taking it around seattle. i think it's a great pasttime. maybe you could think about getting back into it, if you have the time!

i'm always going to miss california when i'm away
