Does this game's story stand on its own? Will I regret purchasing it if I'm not into anime?
>>6800103
I don't know, I havent finished it but it's nto particularly anime-like? The description of the game is literally in the name: "cyberpunk bartending".
>>6800103
I'm not a weeb either, but the game is still fun and interesting. Character design is the only thing that's anime-like that I can spot after 2 hours into the game.
>>6800103
>stand on its own
You are phrasing it like there is extra material or the game is based off of something. I am halfway through the game and I didn't know it was. Pretty sure it isn't so I'm kind of confused now.

I just mean that from watching anime with my roommate (someone who enjoys it much more than I do), I know there's a lot of shitty anime that relies on tropes, fanservice, and the very fact that it's anime to sell. But the consensus seems to be that this is pretty good.

>relies on tropes, fanservice, and the very fact that it's anime
as far as i can tell so far, there isnt much of that. sure there are some basic character archetypes, but nothing egregious.
>>6800419
The jokes seem to be a lot more from chan culture than anything from anime at least that is the impression I got. Like DFC-72 or the whole danger/u/ thing.
>>6800103
It's literally just a visual novel where you're a bartender in some small bar on the street, who talks to the various people who come in about their lives or problems. Events kinda happen around you, and you hear about it from others. P-much the only choices you as the player can make are what drinks to serve, and sometimes, how alcoholic you make them.
You start getting regulars over the course of the story, and you should memorize their drinks and serve them when they seem particularly troubled if you want to get slightly different endings.
There is something of an overarching story, but it's more cyberpunk than anime IMO.
That said, it's really good. The music is fucking awesome, the characters are pretty fun to listen to, and it even references 4chan a bit (especially /u/).
Does anyone have any of best girl Sei?

last bump
It's a solid VN, you don't reaply effect much through the game portion of it, and the "cyberpunk" part of it is sugar coated as fuck if you are into cyberpunk/scifi...
Bumping. Loved this game.

I'll just say I've been depressed as fuck that it's over since I finished it two weeks ago. It's really, really well-done. Never played a visual novel before but I'm glad I played that one.

Just finished it. Apparently you unlock multiple endings/achievements by doing things right through out the game.
Also bump.
