rainmeter is generally seen as baby tier ricing since it's almost always done badly. clutter and overuse of skins are your enemy, good use of rainmeter is sparse and well integrated with the rest of the desktop.

it definitely doesn't /all/ work with windows 10, windows 7 is the more mature OS and nanami-tan was originally written with XP -> 7 in mind.

that being said, most of it should be either directly applicable or applicable with some tweaks. i'd recommend just reading moko's guide since it's pretty short, and then use nanami-tan as a general reference.

if you want to get something nice up and running quickly, getting a visual style is the easiest way. there's a section for it on both sites, here's a link to the deviantart category though.

general tip: if you're messing with window's system files, make a backup of everything you change. even if you never make a serious mistake, it's good for peace of mind.
