comfy
Does Tokyo stink?
>>6771509
i may be alone here, but adding a blur to any of these images of japan makes them 100% more usable IMHO. icons pop more and are more readable, but you still get the vibe of the pape.
check it

yo, this isn't OP but i originally posted many of the pictures here that i found on flickr. I believe they are from this user: https://www.flickr.com/photos/58451159@N00/
he has a ton of old stuff, mostly 50s-70s japan/korea i think. the pictures in question are from this album specifically: https://www.flickr.com/photos/58451159@N00/albums/72157629573094194
>>6774779
>>6774782
also, i usually try to post this whenever one of these threads pops up: http://imgur.com/a/Or21n
i add an image or two to that album every so often. easier to link to the album instead of posting one by one

I love these old foggy shots. And I sometimes try to understand why I like them and I come empty handed. The only thing that I see is it gives a sense of "false nostalgia". Like having a blast and a great time through out your life while in reality it's shit and it went all to waste. When people look back in their life and say
> oh wow remember when we did...
> man those were the good times.
I wish I can do the same. It sadly seems like it's not happening. That's why I think I like these pictures.
What about you guys? Why do you guys think you like it?
I lived about 4 years in Tokyo (Tokorozawa actually, then moved to Tama Plaza). This thread hit me like a fucking train. Thanks for bringing up fond memories OP
>>6774802
I love the aesthetic of Japan, hoping to go there soon.
>>6774824
Happy to help man
I love cities at night, I lived in London for a while, god what a good time.
I'm not a weaboo, but i just love the whole aesthetic of Japan, i'm not sure why.
Maybe becasue it's different from Bongland?

ants
>>6775012
I know you're getting some of these pics from Adult Swim Bumps right?
Now I miss Tokyo
>>6775009
Im kinda of a weeb, but the reason I love it so much, it's because they are so organized, advanced, colorful and clean!
I live in a third world country, so my city (as much as we try) isn't as nice, it isn't pleasing to look at like the cities in Japan.
>>6776252
It is very clean and organized.
>>6770260
I like this.
Thank you
>>6774802
y-you get me anon...
Its a bittersweet feeling and maybe im guilty of indulging it but I can't really help it.
>>6775810
Went there in October. Had a wonderful time, cannot wait to go back. These papes are a wonderful addition.
>>6773027
very nice
>>6774802
>this
this is the perfect explanation of Japan, I've been there a few times to visit family, and this is what it's like. I think they're fairly popular because when you blur these pictures it looks like it's from the 80s, which is the time when Japan was at its peak, and they've never come close to that again after the bubble burst
>>6775003
The nice thing about japan is no matter where you go there's always something aesthetic. if you do end up going, make sure you be adventurous and explore. taking the train is quick, cheap, and easy, and don't be afraid to just see where the line ends.
there's a lot of really great nonweeb stuff in japan, check /trv/
(and learn some actual japanese, I met two people there who spoke fluent english, one was some random subway worker and the other one was my cousin's wife, and no one told me she spoke english)
>>6774802
top notch analysis anon
>Eastern Cities
>Mostly Japan
>FTW
>>6771335
I fell in love with Japan so I feel the same, due in part to the novelty from Canada and metropolitan vibe
>>6774802
Anon, I just want you to know that what you said was beautiful, and you actually inspired a stranger to start writing that book he's been postponing for the last two years, which will open with your words.
Thank you.
>>6778271
all the other ones just wanna be tokyo anyways
>>6778271
Other asian cities look like shit for the most part. Maybe not Seoul and Hong Kong looks nice. Actually someone should post some Hong Kong wallpapers.
>>6774416
That's a good idea but you should un-blur it just a bit. just enough so you can see the details in the pic but the noise doesn't make icon text unreadable.
I know this is probably a longshot but I got a wallpaper about 2 weeks ago
It was an alley way with a nice warm orange glow to it coming from a sign or two, with I think bikes to the right and it was quite open, larger than your normal little alley. I think there may have been two men at the end talking as well.
If anyone could help me find it, I'd be forever in your debt.
>>6780651
Sorry, left! Bikes to the left. Sign was to the right I think.
>>6780651

>>6782936

>>6775010
I'm absolutely in love with this picture. Thanks, anon.
Awesome thread, my thanks OP...
Anyone have advice for travelling?
>>6768780
Photoshopping this one made it bad, literally walked under this bridge many times.
I share the feeling brothers, Asian cities specially at night, give me a comfy, clean, organized, safe sensation, and I thank every one of you who posted, I think 70% of my papes are asian cities at night, even so, I found many on this thread that I didn't have, thanks.
Pic related: Its kinda my dream, travel to this side of the world and stare at the lights for a long period of time, just that.
>>6771335
Whats the name of the photographer? I know he posts on flickr but i forgot his name.
>>6780883
Oh my god, that's it! Thank you so much!!!!! You have my eternal gratitude.
>>6780883
Can't download. But the pics are nice.
