I personally won't buy Eternal Crusade out of principle that it's a P2P and reviews were pretty acidic and connection/lag issues are galore.

It's kinda like Space Marine meets Battlefield. Lacks some polish, but it's fun. Also, supposedly the devs were pushed into early release by Bandai/Namco and aren't finished yet. So fingers crossed.

I've got 36 hours in, and I haven't had any connectivity issues personally.
My favorite part is the melee. Melee is a hoot, there is a fast-strong-counter mechanic with melee that is influenced by tier of weapon and the battles get stupid hectic.
I'm not sure what you mean by P2P, but you earn xp that determines your rank and thus the tier of upgrades you have access to, in addition to points to spend on those upgrades, and points to spend on weapons and wargear at the end of every match. The only stuff you actually have to shill money out are are basically cosmetic upgrades. i.e. you can spend RT points on a shiny gold power fist with a standard stat line or pay 16000 requisition for a faction colored one. (For reference I usually earn ~2000 a game and I'm not very good).
Customization includes pretty much the full 40k fare which is neat, each race has five or so classes and each class has a bunch of weapons, armor, trinkets, grenades, and wargear they can swap out.
On the topic of warhammer 40k how is Battlefleet Gothic: Armada?

Give it another month or two and keep an eye on the updates. I definitely see that they were rushed to release but they do not intend to stop development, they plan to keep working on it as long as they can and fix issues is what they say and I am inclined to believe them.
Most of it has been posted recently, but i'll dump what I have.

I personally enjoy the game a lot, only frustrated part is that Space Marines can't do much if your team doesn't communicate. It needs lots of work at the moment such as open world but the devs haven't abandoned the game and avoid pay-to-win at all costs.
