post rainmeter skins, I need some
>>6678145
Rainmeter is reddit-tier cancer, kill yourself.
>>6678190
? Not op but ?
>>6678145
I stopped using it really, only got the clock left.
>>6678190
No one said you had to come to this thread.
>>6678145
Have this setup for about 3 weeks, always moving the honeycombs around because they are never decent enough.
Just reinstalled this cunt, tryna keep it tidy.
I use Enigma and game banners, I prefer simplicity and I think it looks good
>>6678190
I first discovered it here in 2011, anon
I don't use reddit and didn't know it was popular there
How come you know so much about reddit?
Mine from awhile ago, barely use rainmeter anymore, except maybe for music/clocks
I made the clock and dock myself using rainmeter
>>6680092
this is sick
kinda wish I could change the colour of the hexes but whatever.
Any good taskbar replacements?
>>6680725
Shit that looks great. What's the media player called?
>>6680725
You can change the color of the hexes. Find the Rainmeter folder in your documents, go to that thing, there should be a folder called @Resources or something like that. Just be semi-decent at editing shit and you're good
has anyone seen any other types of visualizers that are clear?
>>6682761
Can you share your pape?
anyone that uses rainmeter should be sterilized.

I'm really new to rainmeter and I'm having issues with weather because I'm basically an autist. I'm using simplemedia at the moment, help? I found some tutorials from 2011 involving yahoo but the weather system has changed and I'm dumb. Also reduced file size using paint cuz fag

download some rainmeter themes off DA or whatever and play around with them, that's what most people do.
doesn't take much experimenting to find something you'll like vOv
This is how i use my rainmeter. Pretty simple, couple launchers and a clock.
>>6684804
Not a fan of the info ui in the bottom right, but otherwise it looks really good.
What clock is that?
>>6686911
>>6686911
Someone like help me here ok. Also, I want to set a simple light image visualizer that is also compatible with .gif but I couldn't find any.

>>6687997
>w0w 2 cl0cks!!!!! -10/10
How'd I do? Just downloaded Rainmeter today. I run a dual screen and I put everything on the left screen
>>6688064
I'm of the personal preference to not put so much useless bullshit on the screen. You have two weather monitors when you should only really pick one. I also believe that all the useless ones like cpu monitors, hdd/ssd monitors, network monitors, RAM monitors, and that stupid trash skin should go. They're nothing but useless clutter that takes up extra system resources for exactly no reason.
1/10, only used common stuff and too many useless skins
I made some very simple rainmeter skins for my own personal use, the first being the windows-style text clock in the bottom right because windows 10 doesn't come with an option to have the clock on both screens. The second is the music bar in the middle of the start bar, it only has a pause/play button and clicking the bar opens the music player but it works pretty well for my needs.

not that guy, but I have the original (his version is edited)

the music visualizer cutting off there looks kinda weird but besides that u good
A-am I doing rainmaker right? I like my desktop so far, but it just seems a bit too basic. I like the comfy feeling it has though.
>>6689790
I liek that wallpaper famalam
>>6688064
I'm no expert, but I'd say maybe put your visualizer someplace else, it sitting on top of the album and song title just seems a bit cluttered to me
>>6687949
Like it, just see that wallpaper everywhere nowadays
>>6684804
whew lad, thats a good desktop mane
>>6682761
I'm pretty sure you can just change transparency in settings, if that's what you mean

>>6690181
Aaaaand I forgot my pic because I can't do anything right.
>>6690183
perhaps the clock/date/etc should go in the bottom right area, between the roof and ground & then move the launcher to top left?
ideally the launcher would have icons whose colourscheme matches the background (or more realistically, black & white icons).
>>6690208
Thanks for the advice! I think you are right, it just sort of sits better than my original layout. I'll do those icons too, I'm just a lazy cunt, but I'll do it eventually.

cool aesthetic going on, the taskbar on the left doesn't really fit in but it still looks good.
my setup is a bit weird if you only look at a screenshot of it: actually, the left screen is a TV, which is bigger than the right screen. I reduced its resolution to obtain a better image quality. Anyway, hope you like it
>>6692539
Exactamundo, frienderino.
Also, if anyone could recommend some good skins to monitor my temps and usage with, I'd be happy. Also if anyone has a semi decent app launcher that isn't complete cancer, that'd be nice too.

Not OP, but those are all just individual skins.
hexagons - Hexagon Launcher
player/visulizer - Monstercat Visulizer

Basic rainmeter
>>6693081
Clean. What is that system monitor skin called yo, they look like exactly what Im looking for?
This is the best place I found to ask this question so fuck it.
Fresh Windows 10 setup, never used rainmeter or any desktop mod on my previous rigs (just kept desktop virtually blank [get it? virtually?]). I'm really not looking for anything other than an icon drawer (either a dock or actual mobile-type folder for program shortcuts). Would rainmeter be the best use of resources considering I'd only need the one function?
On another slightly related note, is there any way to replace the taskbar's function of listing active windows?
New to mods, pls go ez on me
>>6697553
I prefer not to use anything in this thread and do pic related instead.
>>6697553
Don't do any of that.
Just turn on voice commands and say "hey cortana launch [programme]"
It's the least cluttered way to run your desktop.
You should download some basic skins and play with them to learn how to make rainmeters too, I made all of mine. (pic related)
>>6697561
But why aren't you listening to Camisado?
I can hardly stand the poorly functioning search box, let alone the dumb bitch that pops out of said box.
I just didn't want to spend another 24 hours figuring out how to do something that ultimately just can't be done the way I think that it can. I'll probably take you up on that advice to fuck with the settings and functions of the glorious meter of rains, but not until there's some downtime in my coursework.
>>6697569
I really am interested in putting in the work to make a tray that works just as I want it to. My main question is if that's ALL I want to do, would rainmeter be the best program to do it, specifically in regards to system resources?
>>6697578
Yeah, rainmeter is easy to program, noninvasive, and takes practically nothing on your cpu.
>>6697601
Thanks dollface. Sharing a wallpaper because I have no knowledge to contribute.
>>6697603

You can actually recolor the hexes, if you go to
>Rainmeter>Skins>Honeycomb>@Resources>Images
you can recolor all of them probably just by using paint and "bucket tool"
>>6697557
Are you using a program or is that a OS feature?
>>6700139
maybe bblean? you can edit context menus through the registry too, possibly that.

Seeing as how your font is already partially circular, I say keep with it.

How easy is it to make nice skins yourself?
>>6703591
>Is the best place for skins deviantart just like foobar2k?
pretty much, you can check the official rainmeter forums too.
>How easy is it to make nice skins yourself?
Text based skins are generally pretty simple, there are decent official tutorials to get you started. You can experiment/google your way to solving most problems.

>>6703591
Buried in this review thread but YES that's an excellent place to go.
While we hate reddit, its also a good place, as all wallpaper setups have to include a full list of skins, so if you like something, you can get it with ease.
>>6705122
Like the pape, like the icons, and only complaint is the date, why is the 18 on a separate line?
still a 10/10
>>6705171
Sweet Jesus Christ kill it with fire... It's literally begging to be killed at this point.
Honestly though, just get a more simplistic background (like pure grey or black or something) and it'll look like 9x better.
3/10 still too cluttered though
>>6705424
Holy fucking shit. The game's shit, but I'd be damned if the art and you're setup isn't god damned beautiful.

Is it possible to have to two of the same skins loaded at the same time. Let's say I want 2 Visibubble skins. How do I go about doing this? Copy/pasting the folder in its directory?

The font for Adobe Creative programs tiles is Myriad Pro Bold, use less saturated colors in your icons, decrease the transparency of them a bit, and make the focal point of the icon take up more of it, in addition to thicker borders.
These are my startmenu tiles, styled after Adobe logos, consider adding some consistency to the appearance of your icons.

I'm using Circuitous for the circular meters, Lines 3 for the storage meters, Honeycomb for the icons (I edited the appearance myself), the monstercat visualizer, and then PlayMusic (Which I edited to have a white border) for the song info, mostly because its the only widget i could find that's compatible with google play music. I've looked at the rain meter site, and I'm a bit lost in all the options, possibility, and where I can find trust worthy things that aren't shit.

they got skin setups already there, with most users posting all skins they use in the comments.

Good music taste/10
Also nice setup 8/10
Build by a friend of mine a view years ago.
Modified by me for a 4core CPU and added the GPU stuff (for dual GPU) (GPU run with MSI afterBurner)
>>6721264
Simple yet effective/10
>>6720833
the way everything is organized in the bottom left is really weird, the rest is nice though, I like the wallpaper in particular, nice lewd too
please r8 me aswell
/completelynewtorainmeter/ here, the programs (notepad, utorrent, spotify, etc) don't work. what do?

Not much you can rice on W10, I just stuck to the Win10 widgets and some music skins.
If anyone has some suggestions feel free to comment.

Nice honeycomb icons! you got a download for them? :)
>>6678145
Please die
Had to swap out my C drive, lost all my Rainmeter skins/customization. Pic related is what I've got so far.
Recommendations? Keeping the pape, but still need a good color for the clock :/
>>6725190
I think it looks nice, but I'd personally hide the taskbar and put the system monitor skin on something darker to give it more contrast. Looks good though.
>>6725195
I use the taskbar way too much for that... It's a dirty shame. Like to see what I got open too.
Got any recommendations for a Spotify desktop player?
I got tired of trying to find 4k versions of awesome papes and just framed them on my desktop with rainmeter. They cycle randomly every 10 minutes.
The boxes on the right are not another screen, just shows a couple of the overlays that appear when different stats are hovered over, in this case the date and the cpu. There's one for each stat displayed.

Not the original anon, but i tried remaking it.

What do you guys think? I think it's a good, cozy autumn setup. Any suggestions to make it comfier?
>>6725237
cool idea, i've never seen someone do that.
>>6725640
looks comfy, how about moving the temperature thing to the top left corner instead?

same guy here, been toying with new setups. here's the current.
here is my current rainmeter setup. i like it, because its simple and functional.
>>6720173
it's homemade :)
>>6725204
yoa can use "Cleartext", it supports Spotify and works fine.

whats your network and hdd skin?

Simple rain by janbure
Pic isnt mine; haven't set it up on my laptop yet.
>>6722508
transistor pape is nice, simple set up is also nice, 7/10 too crowded
>>6724783
Don't forget UxStyle. Too bad there's drama on DevientArt as there's a really good Win 10 anniversary Arch theme there that is usually free. Oh well.
>>6725640
Welcome to night vale pape. nice.
8/10. I'm used to everything on the right so its a little weird. I'd personally but the time in between the power bar and the settings tab.
>>6726043
If you're using spotify, you can get an older version of WebHelper.exe from the rainmeter forums. just google it. Otherwise, its shitty to me; but I can see why someone would like it. Put an actual background with a subject and i'd be all over this shit.
>>6727513
What is this? It looks really nice, but I'd want to change the colors a bit; I prefer darker colors.
>>6727772
oooooooh. I like it. 9/10
>>6727820
With the way your icons are set up, you should just get a docker skin; it'd look basically the same. You do you tho.
>>6727827
*gags*
that's so much shit. I guess I can see why you'd use it? (no offense, I'm more of a simplistic desktop dude.)
>>6727874
hey, how do you get your visualizer to go behind the pape? cant figure it out.
>>6727832
thanks mate
>>6727877
Hopefully you have a good visulizer, but if you don't, Frost http://www.deviantart.com/art/Frost-desktop-music-visualizer-524701934
is a good one, same with Fountain of Colors:
http://www.deviantart.com/art/Fountain-of-Colors-desktop-music-visualizer-518894563
(you'll need a standalone visualizer like one of these for it to work, btw)
Then make a cutout using gimp or any photo editing software of what you want in the front of the visulizer, and make a skin out of it.
( heres a video tutorial, pretty easy:

If anyone has noob/basic questions not related to code, just let me know; I can probably be of help
>>6727901
hey thanks man

Yep
tinyurl com/jvawrdn
I'm quite new to rainmeter. I've really been enjoying it so far
what do you guys think? would love to hear your opinions.
>>6729044
a bit too simple for me, plus i can tell your pape is cropped. go back into paint .net and use the magic wand tool but set the tolerance to 0.
should give you a nice cut.
>>6727901
not sure if this would require code, but my CPU temp and GPU usage and temp aren't coming through.
just downloaded fresh driver for the GPU and all, how do I hook them up to rainmeter?
>>6724783
wallpaper?
pretty happy about my desktop atm. If you feel anything is out of order and should be changed please tell me.
>>6729603
well, clearly 4chan is way too important to you
other than that looks great
