post nostalgia wallpapers
Does it ever bother anyone that you'll never get to experience any of the settings that are in these photos?
I can't really even fathom it. I mean, the only way we know any of this existed is from second and third hand accounts. We can never go to any of these places or times. You'll never get to experience what NYC was like in the height of the 20s. Go to a drive in, or feel all the tension and apprehension for people during the Vietnam War.
Fuck, no one living will ever know what Rome looked like during it's peak.
All we have of the past are photos and shitty interpetations.
You can't even go back and feel what it's like to be happy again.
Seriously, fuck time.
I need to become 4th dimensional.

some of the deepest shit I've ever seen on /wg/

I know this exact feel.
>tfw you'll never be an omnipotent being witnessing humanity from the very beginning til their eventual demise.
>You will never witness The Battle of Thermopylae
>You will never see the pyramids of Giza in their original marble and gold-tipped beauty
>You will never see the Fall of Rome and it's impact on western society
>You will never be in a castle at peak condition ready to take on invaders at the drop of a hat
>You will never see how bad the Plague truly was and how it killed 30-60% of everyone in Europe
>You will never witness the resurgence of art, culture, plays, ideas, etc. in the Renaissance
>You will never explore uncharted territory in the age of exploration and discover the Americas and West Indies
>You will never fight in the American Revolution for life, liberty and, the pursuit of happiness
>You will never be a vigilante in the Wild West
>You will never be a P.I. or detective in 1920's-50's Chicago
>You will never be terrified for your life as you're drafted into the Vietnam War

there's a word in spanish or portuguese or something for this: saudade. nostalgia for a place you've never been.
>>6614265
There's another term for that, déjà vu
>>6614441
that's not the same at all
>>6614265
to be honest "saudades" is when you miss something, not specifically somewhere you've never been
>>6614265
can we get this in 1920x1080?
>>6614441
well you see, no.
>>6612556
is this the flamingo in LV? the one bugsy siegel had built and got killed for?
Jamais Vu is what you are looking for, by the by.
Thanks Ground Zeroes.

Thats not the same thing.
As a graphic designer, I'm really familiar with the term.
Jamais Vu is when shit get's weird after you've experienced it.
Like staring at a word too long and it loses it's meaning.
I do that shit all the time when I'm designing with typography. It's annoying as all hell.
