this is pretty stupid, darkness is by definition where light doesn't exist, it doesn't exist as a thing other than lack of light.
>>6590064
That one isn't real.
"As quoted in To Rise from Earth (1996) by Wayne Lee; some websites quote him as saying "I looked and looked and looked but I didn't see God." on 14 April 1961, a couple days after his historic flight, but the authenticity of such statements have been disputed; Colonel Valentin Petrov stated in 2006 that the cosmonaut never said such words, and that the quote originated from Nikita Khrushchev's speech at the plenum of the Central Committee of the CPSU about the state's anti-religion campaign, saying "Gagarin flew into space, but didn't see any god there." Gagarin himself was a member of the Russian Orthodox Church."

that's like saying non existence is faster than existence, of course that something that doesn't exist as physical particles and has infinite speed is faster than the limited movement of particles through space even in their maximum speed(light speed), it doesn't transmit any information other than lack of information which our brains translate to the subjective phenomena of black darkness, but it's only an illusion nothingness doesn't exist by itself physically.

If you aren't scientifically literate, don't try to sound smart, faggot.
Dark matter is not darkness, darkness is a lack of light, it is an area where a certain thing is not present. Dark matter is a universal force and existence which we barely understand
>>6598604
it's a stupid metaphor because it doesn't makes sense,it's like saying "dogs are like ice because hats are cool", it needs to make sense to have intellectual merit and to someone with the most basic understanding of what light and darkness are it makes zero sense.

I've never really understood these. Would human struggles be more significant if we were larger, or if the universe was smaller? Would our actions have more meaning if the universe was only a few light years across?
>>6600729
tweet tweet
>>6600752
So the point of the whole speach is to signify how small humanity is in the grand scale of things, when this series came out it was in the midts of the cold war. So its saying that you should chose someting worthwile to work towards instead of some petty shit like these assholes are different from me. The problem with this is that "meaninful causes" change with the times, shit 100 years ago stoping women from voting ect would have been considered a "meaninful cause". So this changes over time. So I think that a better way to interpret this qoute is "keep pushing forward there's more out there yet".

dude they found drawins of dicks and graffiti sayin shit like "remulus sucks dick for coppers" on roman ruins. humanity wont ever change were doomed to both be dicks and draw dicks for eternity and we probably won't ever know why.
>>6603230
And even if we found out why, people would be too busy arguing over it and denying it to ever do anything about it, even if any of them could come up with anything better and then get enough people to help them make it happen. We're doomed. But look how the eye follows you round the room, it's art.

I'm sure you can read it, it's the understanding that takes place that isn't there.
This is late night internet speak.
WHy is it so epic?
You first start to read it, thinking it's a normal sentence, maybe something profound.
Then you realize that the words aren't matching up to something coherent.
And so you try REreading it again, trying to get your brain to interpret the statement, and it just ... doesn't... quite... work.
And so if you continue to devote brainpower to trying to understand it, you find it's not working the way you want it to. it's only once you let go of proper thought process does it work.
And you think, whoever wrote this must be trolling,
but they're not. They never did, they just wrote something on here that made sense in their head as they wrote it, but then reality up and stepped in and it was only then, after it was posted, did anyone realize the dreadful frame of mind the poster was in.
And so, it became something so deeply fucked up, it was also profound.

everything is inside your consciousness, you are your consciousness, everything is inside you.
here have something I wrote one night while doing guard duty in the army
inside of truth there is always a wall
Expand too far beyond
and the anti-matter of truth will manifest itself and reflect what you always knew
everything that exist is already inside you,
your awareness, like an endless stream of energy reach to space-time and creates meaning from the bowls of objectiveness
a tree is not a tree without you
the wind is not the wind without you
the whole universe is a dot, a speck, an atom without you
what would the 1's and 0's of a code mean, if there was no computer to decode them?
that is you
a lone subjective computer
left to wonder and decipher everything.

this is just the education system the Greeks had and all the philosophers from that time established it. Equal training of Body, Mind, and Soul. Physical fitness and health, Academia with mathematics and philosophy, and then artistic pursuits with music and theater.

Dark matter is the substance of Black Holes, which are very real. We know that black holes simply arent like water going down a drain; rather, they contain something (dark matter, for lack of a better term) that is the most powerful force in the known universe. It is a magnetic field that literally can tear atoms apart, and the scope and ability of that magnetic field is simply beyond our comprehension at this time.

>I don't know why this annoys me so much
Here are my thoughts:
Recall Arnold's movie 'Conan the Barbarian'? Conan's father told him the Riddle of Steel was something he had to solve for himself. Conan survived and was a beast among men, due to the inner strength he developed on the path of survival. In the end, Thulsa Doom, his adversary, explained how flesh is stronger than steel. What is steel, he said, except for the hand that wields it?
History is filled with stories of battles where one side's refusal to give in turns the tide, often against much larger and much stronger opponents. This is seen in sports as well.
Never forget that 19 men armed only with boxcutters changed the course of the world forever.
Personally, I would rather have the determination and resolve of the soldier, than the steel of the tank, to protect me.

I always feel bad when I read quotes like this and know that there are people who use them for their wallpaper, or in general. At a certain point being overly logistical is just plain dumb. Albert Einstein used to day dream about riding a beam of light. Did he think he actually could? No. It brought us one of the single greatest theories known to man though.
>>6589930
Have you applied the scientific method to discover whether or not you are the only actual sentient being in the universe? How do you know you weren't just created with all your memories implanted? How do you know you're not dreaming this world? Certain assumptions about the nature of reality are made before any science is done. I guess it's just a limitation of the tools we seem to have available.
Anyway, here's a pape.

Having a strong body means you can carry an armchair up the stairs all by yourself.
This makes you feel great all the time.
It also enhances your mental ability and makes you resistant to negative mental effects (e.g. depression), due to substances released to your brain while / after exercising.
This prevents you from feeling bad.
