Fine to be new to it, but there's a lot wrong with yours. There's a search bar which shouldn't be there, IMO neither should the top bar, dock doesn't suit the wallpaper, and the rice itself is pretty bare. Try using KLWP and if you ever need help just join #homescreen on irc.rizon.net

Really nice work with the animations, I would just move the circle closer to towards the center. This reminds me of the similar rice that was featured a while back where the image spins and changes. Also, maybe change the date/battery to popup with the icons in the center as opposed to having them on top of the image.

I'm not sure how to actually go about doing it on an android but I would remove some of the unnecessary status bar items, leaving the important ones like battery, time, and maybe what kind of network connection is currently being used. That's what I meant by cleaning it up. You can see my status bar briefly in my webm when I display the music app in the app switcher.

It's some KLWP thing I did around six months ago. It's done with something like four layers of text, each with looping animations. Their round-trip times are the same, but each layer has slightly different hold and animation times to give a slight delay effect.

That homescreen makes me feel emotions!

I used to walk almost every day by a similar beach - and that period was the best part of my life. I'm not gonna go into too much detail but I was really lucky to meet a certain person.

The kanji/kana look really well.

The boxes (I guess those are either apps or folders) are just the right color and the right transparency, so they don't feel like they get in the way.

I really like how the clock's font and color are different - and how the serifs look - both the kana and the numbers look "mature" in a way.

The picture feels like it's in a weird position at first, but it grew on me. It would look like you copied the layout from all those other picture frame homescreens if you placed it on the top or on the center, so I like how you made it yours.

Only things I would say are that the gap between the player and the album art looks pretty weird, maybe put a translucent background behind them to connect. How do I get new fonts for my phone?

The whole thing looks pretty abrasive. The wallpaper is pretty harsh on the eyes, and I don't think the "3D" icon set looks so great. I'm not into the clock being written out, with the AM/PM on top either. I would go with an overall theme that's less "loud", y'know?
Functionally though, the slide-out animations are nice, and it's not cluttered.

Just my personal taste though, so if you dig it, stick with it.

It's low because this isn't riced at all. Start by hiding the app labels and page indicator. Try to keep it to only one row of apps on your screen also. I think you should either find a different wallpaper or icon pack, since they don't match much.

I'd also appreciate if you could r8 mine here. I've been making some slight changes to it for the past day or so since it's a relatively new setup.
