Depending on how the post apocalyptic world is - If I was the only survivor, I would wander around because what else can you do with your time?

Assuming gas is still around - I would buy a KLR650 and go anywhere I could, stay as long as I like, documenting it on the way to help keep me sane. Posting wallpaper to keep it related.
