Changed my wallpaper from last thread to something a bit more power-levelish.

Nova Launcher with gestures for app launching. Gestures are:

Double tap for recent applications

Swipe up for app drawer, swipe down for notifications

Tap + swipe up for Clover
Tap + swipe down for Reddit

Honestly I don't really care for my home screen, or spend much time on it so I just put a nice picture.

no need for custom roms, most of us don't have any.

Before klwp was around we used to use photoshop/gimp to modify the wallpaper and place widgets (UCCW and Zooper let you design your own) accordingly.

but now klwp does it all.

Well take away the icons and widgets, but keep the underline thing under the icons and the boxes, and that's quite literally my wallpaper. Open mspaint or some equivalent (I use gimp) shove some boxes. Add a nice picture to look at. Pick some highlight colours (mine are orange and white). Incorporate them somewhere. Set as wallpaper, and put some clocks and things from KLWP. Look at my reply above for bible verse widget.

Some additional things you can try are a launcher (which lets you hide the notification bar, use gestures for app drawer, hide page dots, etc), or UCCW widgets (basically customisable widgets).

Reposting from last thread. I've cleaned everything up a bit. Animations are quicker and don't overlap anymore. The only other thing I would like to add would be a page indicator, but I'm not sure its possible to make it move based on which text I touch.

I'm planning on starting a Nier themed rice soon.

White icons on a light background don't feel that great, but if you can see it on your phone that's fine. Try using thinner fonts, they usually look nicer (to me). Using a launcher (such as Nova launcher) you can remove the page indicator dots. Not a huge fan of the top row of icons.

Here's the very beginning of my Nier theme.
I wanted the text to appear almost like its typed in and thought I could use some sort of invisible mask, but if its possible, I couldn't figure out how. I'm just going to use a simple fade in on bg scroll.
I'm waiting on a commission from a friend for art of each character to put on the right side of the screen for a visual novel feel. There's going to be a page for 2B, A2, and 9S, each giving different information and having different app shortcuts.
The background is currently switching every 15 minutes to a random piece of location concept art. The yorha logo bounces slightly on a loop and is going to have some sort of function when pressed. I'm thinking it'll close out the chat box, or maybe change the text to quotes from the game. I'm open to suggestions here.
I'm also having trouble deciding which character gives which info at the moment.
Beyond that, everything seems a bit more straightforward than I thought. I wish I could get that type-in text to work, though.

Not necessarily directed at you, but just as a whole I wish more people labeled things. Layers and items in klwp, psd layers for wallpapers, etc. They make great learning tools when you are able to break them apart and know what each thing does rather than "text" "image "or" shape ".

I have the gesture settings set in such a way that I lose zero functionality and eliminate all home page app shortcuts. Use wallpaper changer and have 100s of them on shuffle. Picked some icons that looked minimalistic and would fit almost any pape.

Crucify me on the folders, I don't know what else to do besides put them all in the folder I have on the dock with every single other app I use in there.

Not really, pointless animations, live wallpapers and the like obviously will drain your battery a lot quicker, but just the standard custom wallpaper, icons and clock/battery/weather/date widget will have no impact whatsoever.

Aren't you worried about burn in? Not asking this purely because of the AOD, but because I'm worried that the image will burn into your screen after some time. Of course I'm only assuming that your phone has an OLED display and not a LCD display.

My phone got reset, before this I was using a widget where it's just so a little colour tab underneath date with events, it has minimalistic design. I could not for the life of me remember the name.
