Spent the last 4 hours 3D mapping this image I got from /wg/ in Cinema 4D, putting Azusa in it, rigging the lighting to look like it's shining through the trees and casting the perfect shadow and the front lights shadows are riding up the tree properly, exporting to photoshop and color correcting before realizing it actually looks awful, I picked a shit vector and you can't see the shadows. Here's my waste of time anyway

I even used subtle green lighting in Cinema4D rigging the scene...

Should've just picked something I could've reflected and picked a decent vector...

Feathering is not needed in vectoring I strongly suggest learning the pen tool in PS and just following the drawn lines a little of the line missing isn't really noticeable so don't be afraid to take out some.

making this stuff is kinda easy if you get it, just some basic tinkering with ps filters and this concept:
-the animu grill that you're going to use must fit in the background, and needs at least decent shadowing.
You can cover the lack of shadows on the base image on rainy/night backgrounds, but on day you're going to need a nice render.
Also, you have to use some 3D light, but first, balance the colors.
Extra points if you're able to do this without using kyoani grills and extra 4k blurry forest/Russian backgrounds.
Going to dump the good ones that I made for some chilean group.
