I wouldn't consider this boring as it ties together really well - more "minimalist". The problem I have with my current setup is that the bottom of the wall is so light that you can't see white, which goes quite nice with the blue at the top, but I can't find a colour that suits both otherwise I'd do some custom icons for it etc. Suggestions (from anyone) are welcome!

Get CM13; MIUI8 was a battery whore on my RMN3Pro.

A good try for first rice but just a few things to think about. Like >>1964364 said the icons would look much better without the circles. Personally I think that there are a few too many icons and it looks a bit crowded but up to you. The other thing is font consistency. The RAM/date should either blend in with the wall and use the handwritten font or use the same font and weight as the clock. Right now in heavy bold below the status base it looks pretty out of place. Overall it's nice and cute but could be improved still.

Just as a heads up, and nobody else seems to do this anyways, but if you want rates it's a good idea to rate other phones ITT. Even if you're not sure, sometimes an outside perspective can help a lot, and these threads tend to or at least used to have some good ol' constructive crit. Anyways, it's very clean and basic. Basically a clock, a wall, and a dock of icons, which makes it not much to rate. 7/10, it's pleasing to look at.

Use if statements with a date function as one of the conditions. I'd guess it's either multiple if statements or nested if statements, either way. The app provides pretty much all the syntax you need and there's online tutorials (i.e. https://kustom.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/topics/63311-simple-tutorials), I suggest you check them out.

5/10 I hate the inconsistency. Overlapping icons look terrible and the off centre phone really irks me. The info widgets look pretty out of place, as if you just dumped them wherever there was a bit of free space. Most of all though the clean, bright colors on the minimal wall don't really with the slightly textured retro chic icons you're using. Find some way to make the wall and icons to fit together and it should look much better.

Hey, it's the person who suggested the stuff with the bottom bar from the previous thread - maybe extend the right icon bar bg to fill vertical and to the right? That way you can keep the original gradient but eliminate the black bar. Although that also eliminates the "floating rounded bar" effect you're going for :/

both the akebi and ankidroid are custom as whicons didn't have either last time I checked.
actually, all 4 are custom to an extent as they're a bit smaller than stock whicons but larger than tiny white/min.

also the chara looks pixelly as fuck on desktop, good thing it's pretty crisp on my phone itself :/

Recently bought a S7 and have been trying to customize it by reading the guides and etc; Is the only way for me to use "themes" by using the launcher? Because it seems like every time I browse my tabs I have to have that open to use it the way I want. (It sort of feels like running a VM)

You could make an On/Off switch in global variable, then add a touch variable on Misaka that will trigger the switch.

Set the banners to have a scroll animation that React On the Global Switch. Invert the animation if it doesn't go where you want, and use the speed to control the length of the scroll.

The icon grid looks a little off, like they're not quite lined up. Probably just the sizes of the icons though, so maybe try rearranging them as Snapchat and music seem to extend lower than the others. If that doesn't work, increase the vertical space a little to hide it maybe?
The only other things I would change would be to get rid of the shadow round the image as the icons are totally flat, and maybe choose a slightly darker shade of grey? But those are just personal choices I guess.

Remove the dock, adjust the desktop grid to suit, and you can still use half-grid spacing to have rows of 5 and 4 at the same time. Making lock screens is a pain in the ass, but there are a few ways that I have tried.

If you don't want to root your phone or anything, then you have two options. First, you can install a different lock screen app like AcDisplay or C Locker that allow you to put widgets on the lockscreen. You can use KWGT, the widget version of KLWP, make a widget, and put it in the lockscreen. If I remember correctly, C Locker allows full screen widgets so that widget becomes your lockscreen. If you do it this way, you can have widgets on the lockscreen that you can touch and interact with. The downside is that you're using a separate app for the lockscreen, and sometimes it lags and doesn't show up instantly when you go check your phone.

Otherwise, you can create an overlap group in KLWP and set it so it is only visible when the screen is locked, or you can give it an animation so it fades away or slides away once the screen is unlocked. The problem with this method is that you can't really interact with the lockscreen, so you can't add custom buttons or anything like that. You also can't change the default components that appear on the lockscreen, like the clock, weather, status bar, or whatever else appears on your lockscreen.

The more complicated way of customizing your lockscreen is by having a rooted phone with Xposed installed. You can then install the Lockscreen Widgets module and then you have full control of what you want to show on the lockscreen. This way works the best, but you have to root your phone and do a bunch of shit to get everything working.

First I just want to say thanks for taking the time to respond. Next I want to ask if you have any suggestions in mind with regards to aesthetics as I am new to Android. Pic related is my background now, and I wonder if the hexagonal layout is less cluttered. Lastly, I really like how yours is set up. Not exactly what I'm looking for, but it has a nice minimalist look that is sleek and cleanly organized, and works well with the black white and grey 8/10
