>What is minimalism?
Minimalism involves taking images and reducing them down to basic colors and removing most features. Most wallpapers will not include shadowing or faces, but this is subjective.

>Guide to Making Your Own
http://www.deviantart.com/art/Vector-Wallpaper-Tutorial-399883993

>Software
Use either Illustrator or Inkscape (both are free if you know what I mean).

>Requesters
1) Do not post images with incredibly intricate designs, vague or conflicting colors, or undefined edges, these make minimalizing very difficult.
2) Be sure to thank the artist!

>Artists
1) Always upload as at least 1080p PNGs, try and post transparents too.
2) Look over other people's works! We need good criticism if we want to improve!
3) Watermarks/signatures are not highly necessary.

Old thread: >>1913884

It's a slow slog, but as always, keep up the good work. Thank you to everybody who keeps these alive.

Time for archive!

https://mega.nz/#!nhxy1ZhI!n_P9-fll5DkmiggeloLuDT6VAITLEHN0zlGnlYH4ARo

Some anons helped me by pointing out some duplicates, but we still had strong growth! With a net increase of 28, the total is now 430.

A bit of a slow burner, that last thread. But I'm glad to see we all came through that are are still here, right?

Thanks to the anons who came back and saved the thread.

And a friendly reminder to post your submissions as a high resolution transparent for both archival and critique purposes!

I didn't like that the scarf and suit were basically just big blobs so I added some extra shading here and there and a gradient to the hair.

Tell me if you'd prefer a pure flat color version or anything different, I like doing these
>>
>>1956968
This looks good, I like the shading. But a pure flat color for the hair would be better.
Thanks anyway.

Looking at it again I don't much like the skirt, the pattern just breaks weirdly without the lines or shading, but adding that would make it too complicated.
Advice?

Just in case the anons moved over to this thread.

Here's my second try at minimalisting, so I hope it's good. If anyone has any advice I'll take it, also the left hand kinda sux, I couldn't get it right, srry :/.

For the anon that has been kinda helping me, I'm the one that made the rikka minimal pic. Is it better? Worse?

Also I take constructive criticism well, so have at it everyone.
>>
>>1957377
What did you export as? You can't make out much of the image. Export the vector file at 300/600 PPI.

My bad I tried to make the image larger, but didn't check to see if it would of distort it, which it did.

Here's the original.
>>
>>1957400
You can't resize the PNG, as its been rasterized once you've exported it.

Currently the image is too small to critique. Resize the image in the vectoring program itself to around 1000 pixels, and then export at 300 PPI. This should export an image at a significantly higher resolution.
>>

Welp I done fucked up, I basically permanently rasterized it apparently. So much for that image, I guess imma start on a new one . .
>>
>>1957416
Are you doing this in a vectoring program like Illustrator or Inkscape? You should not be able to fuck up the image if you're doing it in the right program.

Do not do this in a raster based program like Photoshop or GIMP. Defeats the whole purpose of doing what we do.

The color of the snack makes me think she's eating a shoe sole, and I can't unsee that mental image now. No idea who this is, but now I have decided that that is her weird anime quirk (you can't tell me that's too crazy, such a character trait is mostly harmless (unless she eats everyone's shoes and they're stuck in a winter zone and end up with trench foot, have to amputate and it results in a grueling and deeply disturbing survival story))

I'm not a fan of this at all. Mainly the high frequency face. The inconsistent variation of strokes and line endings in butts or points is really annoying to me too. I know some of the details are that way in the "original" but it looks pretty bad with how it's done in the minimal. It seems like you've stylized it a bit personally but not far enough in an aesthetic direction.

The right shoulder has an important stroke in the source. The chin lacks consistency and the nose/brow lines are too thick. The lines in the left hand don't work at all and the right hand shapes are too thick. Blue are things I consider errors and yellow are stylistic problems like lines being too close or lacking a flow. The top right shows a part that breaks the piece for me a lot. My focus is drawn there because it has so many straight edges and it seems to be in the foreground of the image while many other lines are more organic.

I only have Paint right now so I can't get transparency but these are some of the things I mean. It seems like you painted by colors from the original and makes the vector look a bit strange from the transformation that introduces.

Sorry, since english isn't my first language. I am a bit lazy to read your post.

You have the right not to like my vector, and personnaly I don't care of your opinion. The anon who requested it is happy with my job, that's it.

If you can do better, then don't write a long text and post your vector.
>>
>>1958380
Ouch, someone is weak to criticism. Must be new to 4chan.
>>
>>1958380
He was pretty nice about what issues he saw and even provided an image with all the issues.

Blowing him off by saying you can't do better is a cop out that insecure or lazy people use and it should not matter if he can do better or not, it only matters that he saw an issue and you would be a fool to ignore it if your goal is to get better.

If your goal is to throw something together and hope its good enough fair enough and feel free to ignore me.

Posted an image of my work to show that I can put out.
>>
>>1958247
Doesn't seem like it'd work out too well.
>>
>>1958380
The goal here is to do the best job you can. People request because they can't do it, but it is your duty in taking that request to make it as great as possible, regardless of whether or not the requester can tell the difference. We don't encourage half assed work. His critique was correct, there are alot of inconsistencies that won't work in your vector. If you're not willing to improve, then don't do these.
>>

The only issue I'm seeing is where the different colors of the suits meet, especially along the edges. The edges aren't lining up with each other but I believe that's likely part of the original picture.

Could someone make a quick example of how to do ropes/braids/chains (this was a good example >>1923058 for a beaded type) in a minimalistic style? Struggling with making repetitive "patterns" like these look good.

>suggestion
Spent a while away from /w/ and nice to see the development here. It would be great if for the archive we could get filenames with character(s)/series for everything in it. From here we could point people at the readme/contents file for requests that have already been done or if the picture supplied in a request isn't worth vectoring. Most people are not going to download a 180 MB zip to see if their request is in it (they probably won't search for it in the text file either but it's a lower barrier of entry). This could take a while and it's not meant to dissuade people from requests but I think it could be something to strive for.

While looking for something to work on in old folders I came across this wallpaper, not sure who made it.

Ok ok, calm down everybody. I get it. I'll make a better vector. Give me some time to fix it.
>>
>>1958493
That image and >>1923058 are both me. If the watachi image is what you mean by ropes then I'll say right away it's not a very good example. I made that one a while back and it has some issues with consistent thickness. The best way for consistent simple line thickness would probably be just to make a line with the pen tool and edit it's thickness like the cord correction in >>1921167. As for chains, or a more detailed rope, it'd be harder to say without an example.

You clearly have no concept of how handles or nodes work. Use as little nodes as possible in order to reduce lumpiness (which is everywhere throughout your image). Instead, only place nodes at important areas such as at tips of hair, or at major curves. Then, stretch the handles out and create a smooth curve. Do not overextend handles, or else you will cause flatness at the nodes. You will need to practice numerous times in order to get it right.

Looks at this Ai file and understand how the nodes and handles are done before moving on to another image:
https://mega.nz/#!x85lAD5Q!266xb-81JNTl-mmO81SSOwbW93umjdDXZG_fGLor9dg
>>
>>1958689
like this ?
https://mega.nz/#!7sZ0mRTC!UEQv9iqjbXjMmddCPOlIMtlbtEAOyv8OqpgW1a1_K-A

btw, I don't have AI, I use Inkscape.
>>
>>1958704
Better, but only use sharp nodes with independent handles at the end points for the V shaped hair and the Square shaped hair. You want these areas to be crisp and sharp. If you use smooth nodes with dependent handles you get blotchy hair (or fur), which is not what you want.

You also lack any direction with the hair and fur tips. Notice how all the sharp end points for the hair and fur curve in a certain direction here: >>1958689. This is important, because it gives the hair and fur flow, and helps it look smooth, versus being straight and inconsistent with the hair/fur around it.

Also, you can easily open Ai files in Inkscape. Either right click and open the file with Inkscape, or click and drag the file into Inkscape. Either one will convert the file to SVG and will maintain the nodes and handles for the most part. Study how those nodes and handles are placed and learn from that.

PS: If know know how to pirate, Illustrator is much better.

At first glance the only thing that looked off to me was the bangs. When hair goes over the eyes and cuts off try to make it look similar to other hair strands.
The top of the head looked slightly bumpy. The two green pieces were made with a single node at each end. Using just a node at the start and end of a long curve makes it smooth. Everything else looks fine.
>>
>>1959906
I would highly recommend finding higher quality images to trace. If the image you are tracing looks like ass, the outcome will look like ass no matter how well it's traced. The image is super blurry, very low quality face/hands, and has several key pieces cut off or missing. Doing searches of the characters name on art sites will give you tons of high quality pictures in different poses.

lol I know the source image is shit and don't need a critique of that. I saw the frame and thought that it would look cool in the minimal style if it was done right (not a perfect trace). I took a shot at it and don't that I'm that far off from the image I saw in my head. My problem is that I've been staring at and tweaking things while creating it for long enough that I don't think I can see the image as a whole anymore. So I'm just looking for a fresh set of eyes to help point out any inconsistencies, errors, and or things that just look off.
>>
>>1960118
>I saw the frame and thought that it would look cool in the minimal style if it was done right.
And that's the issue. I could take a picture of shit on a canvas and post it on /p/, and nobody would compliment how well it's lighted.

If you want to honestly hear what looks off in the vector then; all of the hair looks blotchy and unnatural, hair vanishes under the sword, her face looks flat, the right side of where her cloths meat her "face" dosn't look like cloth going around, the upper hand is discussing, both handles of the swords are blotchy and look bad, the sword sleeves don't look like a solid objects at all, the sleeve in the back is not only larger then the closer one but also not even the same shape, the right side of the white stripe on her skirt has a rounded top, the curve on the bottom side of both legs is unnatural, her boots look they are laying over top of her legs instead of being worn, the higher foot looks nothing like a foot at all, the lower foot only kind of resembles a shoe, and many of the stripes have color peaking.

The very first step in making one of these is finding an image that will work. If you can't do step one then no amount of critique will ever make you better.
If your goal was to intentionally make somehting that was as bad as possible then congrats, no need to fix anything.
If your goal is to make a a minimalist vector that looks good then throw this away and start on something else.
>>
probably a dumb question (am new here), any reason you guys don't upload the svg to a 3rd party and link it?
Allows whoever to resize it, right?
>>
>>1960209
Ppl usually will if asked for it. The reason why every post does not have a svg is just the effort required to upload and host it.

If the image is exported large enough it can be easily shrunk to fit most practical uses. That is why the resolutions are typically at least 4k

It's a neat concept but I think it could use a lot of improving if you want to investigate the style. As someone who does 3D, the head hair almost looks like a wireframe which I like but it doesn't gel into a cohesive piece with all the types of lines you have. The tail isn't really apparent unless you know who Makoto is.

As someone said it's reminiscent of stained glass. I think what you've done looks best on the skirt/bottom and the crosses (not the ring). Bold chunks of color with thick lines and mostly sticking to polygons looks very nice and I will have to play with this myself. There are a lot of crazy places you could take this.

Other than that, the skin hurts the piece the most because some of her most interesting features like the cleavage, belly button, and Adonis belt are missing.

So here's another. I kinda zone out in a way while listening to various shows and make these... soon I'll have actual life to deal with and won't be flooding this place so much.

>>1960542
That was more of a technical exercise rather than to make it look good, that's why it's so all over the place with the lines and colors and orderly-ness.

I'm not really a fan of that mosaic/stained glass style and kinda got a sick of doing it when the skin was left. Maybe one day I'll revisit this style or something similar and re-do this image to compare and contrast.

Skin tone is the most noticeable. Usually when doing these the original image will have very pale skin that doesn't translate over very well. I usually switch color options over to HSB and up the saturation and move the hue to a more red. The original color was an unsaturated yellow, and the face i drew over is a more saturated red (see her hand for the difference).
On the bottom side of the hair there was a strand drawn on the top part but left out on the bottom. the strands on the left are thicker than the original, but to be honest I couldn't fix it in a way that looked good. I kind of think the area would look better with them left out.
>>1962071
The original image has a very dark and shaded tone, which is really noticeable in her hair and skin. When colors look off i'd recommend looking up a reference. for (>>1961847) I looked up official art and based colors off that. Some shapes end early instead of coming to the end hear her neck and chest. The string things I drew using the line tool to have a more consistent thickness. Lastly I really don't recommend adding lines to highlight details in there types of images. Because only that area has lines, it looks off. Usually drawing the shading in images can give the extra details desired, but since the original image doesn't have that it be better off with nothing.

Decided to mess with various degrees of minimalist style and some other things. Figured direct comparisons would make it easier to try and learn something about... colors I guess? Recoloring to such an extent probably ruins some aspects and generally might not look good with highly stylized characters like this, since they're designed with the specific colors in mind from the ground up. (if anyone cares, the character is Alpha from an idle-clicker "game" called Crush Crush, the redhead is Nina)

I wrote up a longer reply to this but my tab crashed so this may sound disjointed:

I think you've lost track of "minimalism." You've improved a lot, especially with color concepts, but I wouldn't consider some of your works to be minimalist. A lot of recent work I've seen looks like unfinished vectors without the line work and facial features. It comes off as paint by numbers and feels robotic and mechanical. Minimalism is just as much about the paths you make as it is about the paths you don't make. Don't worry about making every color field accurate to reference. 7 colors for the hair is completely unnecessary and most certainly not minimal.

Do more with less, show restraint. Make stylistic choices in your work instead of being a human AutoPaint. Slow down. Think of the lines you're making and think of some lines that you could be making instead.
>>
>>1962165
I think I get what you mean, I'll have to rethink how I do these in the future.
I'm better at learning from exampled and trial-and-error rather than conceptual ideas though. Could you point out or post a good example of that please?
Also point to the stuff that's less minimalism and more unfinished vector?
Thanks for the criticism and in advance.
>>

>Also point to the stuff that's less minimalism and more unfinished vector?

not the anon you're talking to, bu this>>1961548 seems like a case of it.

You have all the individual small bolt holes on the gun, cluttering it up. You have a large variety of blues in there, where you could have toned it down to four or so shades that still convey different colors.

Those are the things that pop out in my opinion, but as the other anon said, developing a "style" to minimalizing is subjective at best. I see it as how much can I flatten or remove while still giving enough context to see the image.

>>
>>1962668

>Minimalism involves taking images and reducing them down to basic colors and removing most features. Most wallpapers will not include shadowing or faces, but this is subjective.

Generally this place takes anime style characters, redraws them without outlines and most features, except for the most distinctive ones (usually) (though I've got a bad habit of making them too detailed still) and with a fairly small color palette, primarily flat colors.

Check the archive in the OP to get a clearer idea.

The powerlevel thread >>1961790 has stuff that's of a different kind of minimalism.

Right, let's start with the basics then.

First, always export as a .png file so that the background isn't filled. You should be using a proper vectoring program like Adobe Illustrator or inkscape, not a raster program like Photoshop or GiMP.

Second, check your work before posting, you have some areas that were not filled and the purple background color shines through in places it shouldn't.

Moreover, the two mouth parts do not line up properly and it looks janky.

I also circled many points that should not have a node. Those hair lines can be done with just 2 nodes like how I did on the left, otherwise it looks blocky. You did the lock on the left properly, so do that with all of them.

Same with the eyes. If a line is smooth, make the handles (bars) of the nodes align.

Lastly, for now, export at a large resolution so that people can use them for whatever purpose they want, they're called scalable vector graphics for a reason, and do not stretch the image.

It's good that you enjoy this, hopefully that will last. Sometimes vectoring can get rather involved and time consuming.

Now the image.
I hope you see that you have way too many nodes and it's rather messy overall, so don't bother trying to fix it. better start from scratch. Play around with the tools you have, For instance, use the elipse tool for the irises.

Also, check the vector thread >>1951675, I've learned a lot from there myself.

I respectfully disagree. The helms were, as the anon put it, shit, not to mention unusable in that .jpg form.

The fox girl I see more as... room for interpretation. I agree that the lines make it look terrible, but I imagine it would look alright without 'em. Unless someone else picks it up in the next couple of weeks, I'll probably do it.

I mean that's why I made the stitch using screenshots from the show, because the first post was unusable trash; quoting the second one which is usable and saying the first isn't worth wasting time on doesn't make sense.

>>1963546
I used to use GiMP for vectoring before and can say that inkscape is MUCH better for it. GiMP also generally has larger project file sizes because it's a raster program and saves every pixel. Paths are much lighter in that regard, so you'll be using less space. In inkscape it's just the imported image file size plus node and handle location, color picks and math strings for gradients, blurs, effects, etc.

I quickly tested it with this image. The .svg file is just under 1MB, the .png as well. GiMP's .xcf is 2.1MB. I simply opened the png and saved it as xcf. Where did the extra MB come from? Raster hammer space, because fuck your storage limits.

Anyways, I've started the daunting task of renaming files in terms of Character Name - Source Material

It's probably not going to be close to done as I am a bit clueless as to some of the characters, but the filenames in this thread have helped.

I know it may be a bit late and/or unnoticeable of a request, but when someone makes a request, could they include the details for archival purposes?

Details meaning the character name and the show they are from.

Since the implications of her as an Astartes are EXTRA HERESY I added some purity seals to try and mitigate it. Trying to hide heresy is in and of itself heresy, but I'm sure Emps would understand. I can't promise no more heresy in the future from me, 'cuz bipolar Chaos Undivided / Imperial Cultist and all, but I'll keep it outside the realm of the Prince of Excess.

Working on Papa Smurf to bring the universe back into balance in the meantime. He is the most Pimp Daddy I've ever seen. So much decorum, engravings, emblems and symbols on his master crafted artificer power armor. I think he might be compensating for being a quadriplegic.

>>1967020
To add to what >>1967288 said, the eye and mouth (which generally get removed in minimalisms) are kinda the only distinct parts of the image.

Also that's a vector, so try to find who made it, request the .svg or .ai file and post that (or just ask them to minimalise it) Doing this would feel like duplicate work.

But I wouldn't mind doing a Tomoko, but not this image, maybe you've got another one you'd like.

All the details took longer than all the parts making up the silhouette. And I didn't include quite a few of the more intricate details.

I think I'll do a limited amount of warhammer art stuff from now on (and try to get images that are at least halfway anime-esk rather than ones that don't belong here on /w/), anime is so much less detailed and clear.

>>
>>1967762
A booru is less an imageboard and more an image catalog. Danbooru, gelbooru, etc.

People upload images, people tag images, things are easily searchable by tags. It's pretty great on the one condition that people actually tag shit, which never seems to happen for these 4chan "hey guys lets make a booru for this ongoing art thread" projects.

Overall it's alright, but a larger export size would be appreciated to see everything more clearly. (Please tell me you're using a real vector program and not photoshop or gimp)

The only things off that I can see is her cut-off wing which you redrew - it doesn't resemble her other wing at all. Just copy how it looks on the other side. And the lower part of the feather right next to it is bent the wrong way.

Her long hair (on the right) that goes behind the wing and ends in a tip looks like you made it from three separate paths rather than one. That would make the curve smooth and consistent.

On a personal note (not critique, just something I would've done) because the clothes are all one color, I would've added shading to make the parts distinct rather than a big white blob. Same with the wings, though I probably would've made them from three differently colored parts - the front, the back and the lower.

Chill, dude. It's barely been two weeks. Stuff here can take a LONG time to be done.
Sometimes nobody wants to take a request.
Sometimes nobody has the time.
Sometimes it's been started and other circumstances delay delivery.
We do this when we can and when we want to.

I'd like to do it as I did another image of Amatsukaze before >>1960522 , but I'm currently in the middle of making a rainbow and a full vector, so... if it remains un-taken, maybe in a month.

And again, please refrain from bumping a request. I know it's not in the rules in the OP, but it really doesn't speed anything up. I have a folder with all the images not done in this thread and I occasionally look through it and here to see if anything needs to be taken off or if I reconsider doing something.

For a first time, not bad at all.
Now for feedback:

Too many nodes in your shapes. you don't need to slavishly trace every little curve and bend and point, simplify and use the handles. (the blue line only has 3 nodes)

The shading either goes off or doesn't cover what it should in a lot of places. look up clipping and masks, that makes doing shading much easier.

Overall, do a couple without shading, just practice making smooth shapes using the pen and aligning node handles, and take it step by step.

There are a lot of tools at your disposal and so many tutorials for all of them. Start with the basic ones, don't try to use too many at once, learn them one by one.

I hope this isn't too overwhelming or daunting, you did well, but you can do much better. practice some more and get back to us.

The advice I can give to you is...

Sometimes you need to think about how you can make the lines attractive, rather than keeping them exact to the reference.

If you always try to be 100% true to the reference you can run into issues where you lines can be awkward, and may come out unattractive to others.

Also, learn how to correct parts that might be pointy, look uneven or just don't flow well, pic related.

I won't point out to you all of the little bits that I can see that I would improve, because you need to be able to find those yourself. :)

This looks pretty blurry. Did you just take preexisting vectors and paste them into GIMP? You can't just alter the size like that, you need to make sure the vectors are actually vectorized in order to manipulate the image freely. It looks awful and the resolution is quite small. Don't just steal other people's work like that and don't use a watermark.

>>1970238
There are a few groups on DA that regularly discuss minimalist wallpapers, I'm sure you could receive criticism from posting in those groups. However, most people who create minimalist works on there covet their own works; refusing to export higher resolutions and putting it out in limited wallpaper form. While I understand some of their concerns, it makes it incredibly difficult to create wallpapers in other resolutions other than what they post, and to look and learn in detail from how they would do a work.

Also, I have an idea for the next thread, but I need some input on it.

The idea is that anyone who contributes, experienced or first time, all try their hand at minimalizing the same image.

The idea is that if everyone has worked on the same image, it'll be easier to criticize and help each other out. More experienced members could better articulate their comments to newer folks since they've both worked on the same one. They may even notice a different way to have done something. And newer people can look at how they did theirs, and compare it to their older contemporaries.

However, choosing an image for this is proving to be tricky. It can't be too complicated, as to scare away newer folks. But at the same time, it can't be a simple face shot from an anime as there wouldn't be a whole lot to learn from it.

I have some candidates I think would be good, but I'd like some feedback on which one we should use, if this is even a good idea at all.

Candidate 1 https://my.mixtape.moe/jnxysd.jpg
Candidate 2 https://my.mixtape.moe/mepjmy.jpg
Candidate 3 https://my.mixtape.moe/efgcyp.jpg
Candidate 4 https://my.mixtape.moe/qpflkz.png
Candidate 5 https://my.mixtape.moe/etzhth.jpg
Candidate 6 is pic related

Again, any feedback on this idea?

Why would you post high resolution blank pictures?
>>
>>1971203
I like the idea, and would contribute.
I'd probably go with #1, 4 or 6. Number 2 and 5 seem a bit too dificult for newcomers, and 3's shading makes it a bit bad for minimalism in my opinion.
>>
>>1971203
I am in full support for this idea.
imo, 6 is the best choice for a simple minimalism as all the parts are very clear and distinct. 4 is also good.

5 is good for when you either feel confident about what you're doing or want to test your limits, so I would suggest using both actually.

1 is okay for the same reasons as 6, but it's just the top part and a full image could teach more i think.

I would've picked 2 instead of 5 if it's style was more clear-cut, I like it more, but think it would be harder to work on.

3 is just blurry and would be a pain to do.
>>
>>1971203
I'm definitely all for this. As someone who's done around 30 of these now I'd love to be able to precisely isolate the little things that separate me from the top tier veterans. as for which one, it may be the experience in me, and this may be a disservice if there are any really new people, but i think that 1 and 6 are a little to plain, and 3 is pretty dark. I think 4 is the best one.
>>
I'll wait for more imput, but it seems so far it seems a tie between 4 and 6.

If I end up posting two, like Carionto suggested, I would still like everyone to do the first one before moving onto the second, more difficult one. It may seem really simple, but it would help out newer folks to see what you've done.

Regarding >>1971203

>>
>>1971203
6>1>4>>2>5>3
>>
Another vote for 4, and another for 6.

I agree that 4 may seem better as it is a full body, but I think it might be too complicated for someone's first attempt, whereas 6 isn't complete, but it's simple enough with a few details.

Either way, if nothing changes I'll make an executive decision by next thread.
>>
Alright, so I set up a DA thing, posted all the stuff i've done (that I still have the vector file for)
here's a link to the folder of minimalisms:

http://carionto.deviantart.com/gallery/60621742/Minimalisms

In regards to this >>1971313
having gone through all my stuff and thinking back to the amount of effort I put into the first one I ever did. It had less going on than 6 here and I still had a bit of a tough time, even though I had some experience vectoring (albeit in gimp, which might've actually done more harm than good) so I'll stick with 6 being the better choice for starters (plus the one I'm working on now might be the most complex and detailed "minimalism" from me yet, so a light exercise like this will be refreshing)
>>
>>1971313
For vectoring you don't ever wanna upscale it prior to requesting; waifu2x may be useful for some things, but vectoring is not one of them.
>>
Final bit of housekeeping for this minimalization comparison idea; how to keep the output format consistent for posted results?

My two ideas was either request the transparent png posted at twice or three times the original image resolution
or the output vectors all be the same PPI (i.e. 200 or 300) and then saved and posted as the transparents

Mainly important for consistencies sake for comparisons.

>>1971338
Okay, I was thinking it might be better to use a higher resolution for the starting image, but I see your point. If we go with 6 I'll just post the original.
>>
>>1971393
Yeah, if the vectorists want it upscaled to work on that's something they can do themselves, but it messes with linework so it's best to give them the option by just posting the original.
>>
>>1971394
well, what i tend to do is to make the image with the original resolution in illustrator, then when im finished, i upscale to 4k, since illustrator's vectors doesnt really loses any resolution when you upscale your finished work, it doesnt really matters :)

I could, but it depends on how many images with her I can find that I'd consider turning into minimalisms. Currently in my Konosuba folder I have 5 that i'll eventually get to, but I have numerous other folders with dozens of images I'd like to get to at some point, several more BRS, quite a few Warhammer ones, many from various games and VNs, etc. It also depends on whether I'll like the characters come next season.
