There was a thread, that probably got archived not long ago, that I used to come by here for every couple months to change out my wallpaper. Titled something along the lines of: "Images that give that unexplainable vibe." I can't find it anymore so I'll start a new one.
I'll start with the last one I got, and my current wallpaper.
There was one that I found on that thread, that was basically, a Turkish Ferry with Istanbul and the Blue Mosque in the background. I can't seem to find it on my hard drive anymore. Does anyone have it?
>>1935740
That one is always great for summer.
It's not unexplainable. It's just comfy.
I dont even know what it is i like about this one but it made me feel sort of...weird. maybe because it gives me a nostalgia for ridge racer.

Hello, & I would like to say; THANK YOU so much, anons! I am the original poster/creator of the thread. I thought I would be the only subjective mood type of person to experience such a mindset.
I create/draw manga, and try to draw out simplistic yet beautiful wallpaper.
This truly means a lot to me, thank you for bringing back my thread. I came to check up on it for quite a while, but it sadly has been archived..
Though, this is a poorly done effort, I quickly put it together in excitement since everyone here is amazing, and I love you all for the comments!
It's late and I'm in feels city so image dump inc.
Seeing as I like pretty much all that has been posted here I'll share a weird one of my wallpapers
I like these lantern shots with different lighting
>>1938892
This animation had some great scenes of Istanbul in it. Felt really bad when I realized it was just a short commercial about a Japanese company working on a project in Istanbul.
My favorite

I want to be a little girl and I want to live in that room. Is that a train? I don t know, maybe traveling the world as a little girl photographer in that same train forever in that little room with other cool friends around

Yeah. It's very annoying. I posted the wrong version of that pic at first. Someone could probably edit the watermark out and use that image instead of the lower resolution one I posted.

Yeah it's a place in NE china iirc. The city is in the mountains and there is a huge amount of height variation. I don't know what it's called though, sorry.

it sucks having a 4k monitor almost all the good wallpaper look so stretched when i use them and i don't know Photoshop
>>1956133
Do you have photoshop?
If you go into 'resize image', change 1920x1080 to 4k and select the 'nearest neighbour' option, it will turn every 1x1 pixel into a 2x2 square of pixels. It won't blur it like the other options.

Different pictures make different feels that can be kind of hard to explain, not everyone feels the same feels at the same pictures
Sometimes you find one that really sticks out to you and you stare at it for 10 minutes just thinking. The rare ones that just hit you really hard and makes you feel emotions you didn't know you had. Profound feelings of beauty and sadness. I'm trying not to sound like a faggot but it's hard.
Some are like getting lost in something that's so much bigger than you, it's overwhelming and beautiful and if you were there you would just freeze in place awestruck.
Or the ones that are simpler and just comfy, it has a feeling like its almost familiar and nostalgic, like you've been there in a dream or another life
Personally the really strong ones make me want to kill myself

one of my favorites right now.
>>1941370
you welcome
>>1941586
great album too
>>1951922
For me, I think that I've worked it out to be nostalgia, in large part. I can trace a love of huge cumulonimbus clouds and Japanese countryside back to growing up with movies like Totoro and Laputa, and living on the coast and looking out to a lighthouse-tipped island beam away into the dark night has completely inspired an infatuation with everything oceanic. Beyond Good and Evil helped with that as well.
I could also believe in the isolated comfort factor as well.
Past a certain point of reasoning though, some images really are just beautiful. Unapologetically magnificent.
>>1967520
It looks more like a Halo ring to me.
>>1967792
The perspective on this is really weird. Is the ferris wheel meant to be really big, and behind the building to its left? Or is it just meant to have missing carriages?
Coming back 4 months later I can't believe that this thread is still here. I mean I know it's a wallpaper thread and all, it's just unprecedented for me I guess. Thank you for all your excellent posts and additions!

Life is purely psychological. You can make anything happen if you work for it. Download self hep books/pdfs off of Barnes and Noble for free. Read a few pages a day (okay, more like 30 pages) and get some motivation and put the bolts back in your neck.

In a way, watching the slow passage of time as it marches on fits well for this type of theme.
