It was cheaper to buy a 5k iMac, desu. Dell's 5k screen costs $1600 by itself. I paid $2000 before taxes and shipping so, that would have left me with $400 for the actual computer. The computer inside the iMac is way better than anything you can build with $400.

That trackpoint is useless for anything over 1024x768. It lacks a middle button and it can't do gestures, which is why I even got a trackpad in the first place.

We have very hard water in my area, so I think it's because minerals deposited on the membrane. Before I poured the distilled water on it half the keys didn't work at all. Now my keyboard is working well enough that I'm even using it to type this post.

It might actually be on the pcb itself; if you're not afraid of opening it up I'd try scrubbing that with isopropyl alcohol and an old toothbrush. Could also try dousing the membrane in same.
