It usually denotes the active window, it's usually blank if I click to the desktop or work over rainmeter, which I presume it doesn't identify as a window and chooses nothing, as it should, I guess.

>If you could elaborate whats wrong with my bbleanskin that would be great.
The colour you've used is pretty ugly, not unworkable just a bit iffy. The font is something I still take issue but hey. The shadow on the context menu looks iffy and cheap, not to mention the not-nice-to-read white font choice. I'd also say to hide the titles of the menus, it's ugly bloat you don't need. Edit the title or header margins (I can't remember too well) in the skin editor or the config file to hide them.

As it is, the bbleanskin doesn't fit your wallpaper all that well at all.

Nice; I have some friends at UoT. It's a great school.

While I haven't quite started applying yet, I've been working a lot lately to get serious research done so I have something to go on with my applications. I recently won a research grant from my university to go to Greece and study some monastic traditions (I do study of / philosophy of religion), and hopefully I'll be able to get the work I accomplish there published.

>>
>>1784177
Where do you live?

>>1784180
<3 <3

>>1784188
I don't know about tutorials, but I could tell you what programs I use: bblean with bblean skin (for the taskbar and window wrappers), rainmeter (for the text-based launcher, system info and reminders) and firefox with a modifed version of Twily's css. For media I use MPC-BE (for video), frameless (for pictures) and MuPDF (for pdf documents). You can find all the above mentioned programs by googling their names.

The thing is, its pretty difficult to get all of those programs to look nice together consistently. It's difficult to walk you through how to do it, because they only real way is to experiment with different programs or mess around with code and settings until everything is perfect. The goal is to make everything seem like one coherent theme, but doing so is actually a lot of work. Ricing is basically a hobby at this point.

If you try out those programs but you get stuck on something, ask me or someone else on here for help on that specific issue. That's about the best advice I can give.

Is there a bblean step-by-step guide for retards such as myself?

How much functionality do I lose?
>>
>>1784746
I started yesterday. Following the nanami-tan.info guide (ctrl-f: bblean).
It took a while but it looks pretty good. If anything I find more functionality
>>
>>1784747
I read through the guides, I'm just afraid of fucking something up.

Besides a shell swapper, is there anything I need to anticipate fuckups?
>>
>>1784737
Closing it usually works for me

>>1784743
There's literally a tool called "Ribbon disabler" holy shit

>>1784746
Yes it's on nanami-tan like everything else

>>1784752
system restore, backups of various system files involved in theming
>>
>>1784757
>Closing it usually works for me
You're so funny xDDD
>>
>>1784737
>>1784743
http://nanami-tan.info/#RegEdit
Learn to read pls.
>>1784746
None, the point of bblean, and ricing in general, is to increase functionality.
>>1784752
Basically make a system restore point and don't replace any system files unless you really what you're doing.
google.com is your friend.
>>1784760
Well you did ask how to hide everything.
>>
>>1784757
Sorry, probably should have worded that better. After using Ribbondisabler or something like Oldnewexplorer, it would usually replace the ribbon with another bar. But I wasnt sure how to hide that completely.
>>
>>1784763
Don't really feel like going down the proverbial google-rabbit-hole right now, but I believe you can hide by changing a value in the shellstyle.dll for your theme using a resource editor. Probably a better way somewhere, but that's what I recall doing.

>>1784760
:^)
>>
>>1784767
Thanks, I was able to find it.
command bar is now hidden.
>>
>>1784466
My mouse scroll is fucked up, so the scrollbar needs to be there, at least for a while. And by removing the button you mean blending its color to the background?

You should get some icons, man.
>>1784486
This is so lovely.
>>1784472
Yeah, I've seen a similar setup around, too. Either on /wg/ or here, whatever. Looks good, except for the player, the colors are kind of mismatching.
>>1784388
Why two browsers open?
>>1784290
Oh, this is what I aim at a bright/white desktop. Very good indeed.
>>
>>1784761
Can you recommend a resource I could read through so I can learn to create styles for BBZero?

I read through nanami-tan but I can't get a definite guide, so I'm lost.
>>
>>1784806
Open bbStyleMaker and move the sliders, if you really don't know what you're doing then edit from someone elses style config.
>>
>>1784486
no more bullying

>>1784124
nice
>>
>>1784813
Am I understanding this right? bbstylemaker allows me to to create a style after messing around in the sliders?

Also, what do I have to use to edit the default style lean_blue?

Thanks a lot for the help. My only experience with this stuff is Rainmeter code and Python.
>>
>>1784816
Yes, you could open the style file in a text editor of your choice but the easiest way is to select the style then edit in bbStyleMaker.

thanks, the dark one is not my desktop. the light one is.

>>1784853
no, its foobar. it is the modified ncmpcpp mod though. all of these are separate components. foobar is fantastic because it's so modular.

So has someone managed to remove the reader view in the urlbar yet? It's getting annoying

Reader view?

The worst thing about customizing desktops are the wallpapers.

I have too many shinobu renders I want to use.

Do you mind sharing them? :3

Does anyone else use bug.n? I've been trying out tiling window managers and I'm finding it to be really complicated. What are the major benefits of using a tiling WM?

In particular, I'm having trouble setting my desktop margins. Config_viewMargins doesn't seem to work.
>>
>>1785280
nvm, I was able to figure it out ;)
>>
>>1783872
I'm a bit curious on your version of firefox, I still haven't updated mine since 28 or so, but if i do update my css will die. Been trying a few css's but they all seem f** up after the new update.
>>
>>1785292
I'm using the latest version with an edited version of Twily's css. You should try it out, it's great.
>>

Looks good, you should upload that MPC picture, please! :)
