Air Fortress at the moment. Picked it up for $3. I've also been playing Shadowgate for the past few months. Im not using any guide so it's been frustrating at some points but I get a huge hard on when I discover something new.

At most i could play like a new console game and a new handheld game in the same time frame. But to play a FF game while playing something else...i dunno.
How could you get immersed when youre trying to remember two different stories?

Im not trying to criticize but it just seems so..odd to me.

Currently I'm playing the game "Trying to do the bare minimum to not get fired at work with a sinus infection and crippling depression"

It's going okay I guess. If I survive the drive home I might play "Smoke some weed to forget about the pain for a little bit" or some Metal Slug 2. Or not

I don't get too invested in multiple game stories. I played DQ7 for many hours, got somewhat tired of it and started up FFL2, Suikoden, then Skies of Arcadia. Sooner or later I'll finish them all. It's rare for me to stick to one game from start to finish, the last time where I played only that one game and nothing else all day was when I powered through all of SaGa Frontier in about two weeks.

Taking a big-ass break from FFIV. Going through an FF gauntlet so far considering I have access most of the mainline games.
I like 2 best so far (tfw no FFII-2), and 4 feels like a spiritual successor to it in a way, namely the similar rivalries between Firion/Leon and Cecil/Kain.

Mostly Virtua Fighter and Daytona.

Been switching off between Thief fan missions, a sniper high perception/agility/luck run in Fallout, a little bit of arcanum to help a friend with his fight Mage build and Hayarigami 2 since I'm playing through the series agin and to keep up with my Japanese, and playing a 5e campaign once a week. Looking forward to my copy of imabikisou to come in the mail later this week as well

Like i get that most of the fun is in gameplay but it seems so useless to play a game with a story but not focus on it.

Doesnt sound impressive. Impressive is, you read one book and finish it in a short time and, since you have better brains, remember details to a tee. And after that book you start another immediately and finish that one quickly and so on and so forth.

I guess to each his own. I like immersion. What you're proposing would be like having a movie youve never seen before playing on your tv while playing a video game you never played before at the same time listening to a new album youve never heard before. Its dumb.

I don't really play story heavy games though. In my opinion story < atmosphere. I can hardly even play games where i have to sit through cutscenes and textboxes every 5 minutes.
As for the book, i really dont read fiction either. The vast majority of books i read are academic works, where i like to read something light and something more demanding at the same time.
That way i have a choice if i want to relax or challenge myself when its reading time.

System Shock. I'm really digging the soundtrack. As a metroidvaniafag and lover of ancient FPS, I'm shocked I haven't played it before.

Also playing Castlevania Legacy of Darkness. It's good.

I only practice KoF98 and Third Strike at the moment
