what is the best way to handheld emulate Super Metroid? I tried my psp last night w/ snes9x. do I need a different emulator? I know snes is tough to emulate, but I want to get into Metroid and the prices for carts are too high for me.
>>
>>4253631
I meant to say I tried psp and it didn't work. just went through the cinematics in the beginning and then glitched out.
>>
I recommend you kill yourself. That should do the job.
>>
>>4253636
thanks for the tip faggot. I'll just buy the original cart then since it won't matter when I'm dead

why are millenians/hipters trying this hard to be into old games, you're not going to like it anyway
>>
>>4253631
Is computer a no-go? I played Super Metroid on snes9x recently and had no issues.
>>
>>4253631

8bitdo snes bluetooth controller with 8bitdo gamepad xtander combined with your smartphone and snes9x for android with integer scaling.
>>
>>4253631
I played through super metroid on my psp fine.

Mess with the "psp + acurr" video settings, disable/enable vsync, etc until FPS shows a decent rate
>>
>>4253831
while this seems nice and all, the brand name "8bitdo" sounds horribly hipstery
>le epic 8bit retro gaming
>>
>>4253854
not to mention all of their gamepads are based on 16bit design

Vita, buttmunch.
>>

I get a feel that using a wireless control might add a lot of input lag. They also offer usb cables, right?
>>
>>4253831

More like delaydroid, amirite?
>>
>>4253631

Make sure you get the latest emulator and that is compatible with your CFW. May also be a shitty rom.
>>
>>4253831

I was thinking of getting a controller liek this for my iphone.

Then I realized how quickly the battery burns out.
>>
>>4254825
Quick version: Android serves more lag with wired controllers than with Bluetooth. It's actually pretty minimal with a good Bluetooth controller.
>>
>>4253635
what emulator did you use? i've beaten SM with my PSP and only had minor errors with the graphics

use snes9xTYL0.4.2mecm, that's the best one to my knowledge
>>
>>4255175
snes euphoria?
>>
>>4255175
I'm definitely going to try a different version of snes9x now
>>
New 3DS / New 2DS

its available as a Virtual Console title
>>
>>4255269
i think the one i mentioned is more recent, and possibly more accurate/compatible but i could be wrong
>>
>>4254825
Yes they come with usb cables, i only use it for charging and connecting to my pc.
>>4254846
which one? the phone or the controller?
In my experience my phone runs out of battery way before the controller. but fully charged and in power saving mode with mobile data shut off it last me maybe 3-4 hours of gaming. The controller probably does twice that.
>>4254827
i actually found it very responsive when setup right, at times the emulator would lag up when background apps on the phone were doing shit with the internet but once i shut that off it was very smooth, and even though there is input lag undoubtedly i still managed to walljump and spinjump in super metroid even though it sometimes felt a little bit hard, however it didn't stop me from completing the game.
