You can buy frozen donut burgers at Walmart. They have cheese and bacon jam on them. I bought a 2 pack one night and I think it may have been the most unhealthy thing I've ever eaten. But in reality it's just trivial bullshit associated with localizing things, probably having to do with a few really obtuse lines in some contracts or guidelines the general public doesn't get to see. It's not just Japanese things it happens to, although since most non-English video games are in Japanese it stands out more. When you look at movies, for example, the French translated the title of the Disney movie 'Bolt' into 'Volt', even though it alters literally no aspect of the film. Similarly, the movie 'Moana' is known as 'Vaiana' in Europe.

I was a pretty big sinophile back in the day and none of my friends ever ate rice balls even though we were aware of them from dubbed anime.
