always be manufacturing things no matter what, items cost money up front to make but you can always sell them for a profit. Just always be making stuff.

Research, research, research. In addition to always be manufacturing, keep those scientists busy. And hire more as you can. Until you get psy, don't worry about screening the X-Com soldiers too much. Once you do get psy however, you'll want to try to screen for those with good psy stats. Also, when you finish this one, go to the sequel, TFTD. It is arguably better.

not the same guy, but I would recommend not to send your interceptors right away to shoot down UFOs, rather wait for them to land. This way you'll get tons of resources.
