>Underage, 16 bit Disney games were some of the best games on the systems.
The only good licensed game ever made is Escape from Butcher Bay. Everything else is total shit and you should re-evaluate your life if you think otherwise.
>>
>>4239129
Fuck you I liked that game.
>>
>>4239198
I'll let you know Snes Aladdin is superior to Sega aladdin.
>>

6th gen, fucking really. You truly are underage.

Duck Tales and Alladin [GEN] are the GOATs.

Also pic related

And Toy Story for GEN is shit but I love it

Well at least you're trying to improve yourself.

>>4239129

all three Magical Quest starring Mickey Mouse games on the SNES are incredible. I have especially fond memories of the second one because of its co-op. I love everything about those games, some of the best platformers on the system. Capcom was really in their prime at that time.

>>4239132
This, anything Capcom touched at this time was gold.

>Magical Mickey series

My fucking mickey nigga. Honestly, they are probably some of the best platforming games I have ever played. So damn charming.
>>
>>4239246
One of the best really, my sister was really bad she never made it alive to the last level
>>
>>4239224
Cold shadow is SO fucking good! Too bad the PC version, which is by far the best, has never been properly rereleased...
>>
all the playstation 1/pc games were great, especially the pc ports with no stupid fog and draw distance. I still 100% this occasionally and all the soundtrack is directly stored in the installation folder

the emperor's new groove was also amazing
>>
>>4240234
So easy, but I loved this game on the Dreamcast. This and Spyro are two games that really sparked my completionist nature.
>>
>>4239132
Mickey Mania was mediocre as all hell.
>>
>>4239209
I beat the SNES Aladdin and had plenty of fun but when I played the Genesis one it felt like a mess. Am I the only one? The sword seemed terrible
>>
Pic related was great. Even the multiplayer deathmatch mode was solid.

>>4240234
>102 Dalmatians
This game doesn't get enough attention. It was seriously great, and not even just for a 3D licensed game.
The Game Boy Color 102D game was okay too, but it was just your average "we need a game to sell, quick!" GBC licensed platformer.

Is it a port, or a total different one?

does anyone know how to emulate that Small Soldiers creator game? I didn't even remember the name, but you were playing as a Globotech guy, and could create your own commandos and stuff

The NES and Gameboy versions are both bad ports of the Mega Drive version.
>>
Toy Story 2 was pretty baller. But really only because it was a blatant clone of SM64.

Are you implying it's better than Capcom/Sega Disney games in general, or just better than Capcom's Aladdin?
In both cases, you're wrong.

It's incredible that a game this unpolished actually got to be a best seller thanks to graphics and music alone (and marketing)
>>
SNES Jungle Book was better than Genesis Jungle Book.
>>
>>4247338
>>4247336
We've been over this.
Ali wasn't hitting the ground feet first, hence why he fell down. If you do a running jump, he'll jump feet on front and can cover larger distances.

The hitboxes are fine, it's just not Mario style hitboxes where you only need to hit 1 pixel of the ground to stand on it.
>>
>>4247374
>We've been over this.
Yeah, we already know you're a Perry apologist.
His games always had the same problems. It's not excusable.
There's plenty of other games (including western ones) that are better tuned in terms of gameplay and aren't Mario-style or whatever.
Besides, that's just one of the problems of Aladdin, the other being level design.
>>
>>4239672

I was lucky enough to have it on PC as a kid. I didnt even know they had it on consoles until a few months ago. Must be uncommon or rare or somethin.
>>
>>4240681
easy but incredibly comfy
>>4240761
it's probably the most polished out of the 3d disney games
the fact that you can change character with the press of a button and in less than a second is still a mindblowing concept to me. why don't newer games use it?
gbc game is eehh. the disney activity center games were better than that

I also have a Windows Cold Shadow around, along with Earthworm Jim Special Edition and a couple of other early ports that are a fucking nightmare to play on a modern system.

There's a repackaged portable version of Cold Shadow going around with working music if you're interested (pretty easy to find)
>>
>>4247521
Shit it's tighter than Donkey Kong Country.
>>
>>4248652
Just stop man. Aladdin has really pretty sprite animations, but it's really barebones in its design.

You mean outsource to companies like Capcom, Virgin, Sega, etc?
Because they established their own video game studio around the time Mickey Mania came out.
They still licensed their characters to other devs though, like mickey's raceway USA which was made by Rare, but there was never another time again where Disney games were top-notch as it was in the late80s/early 90s.
The closest we got was Epic Mickey and remakes like Castle of Illusion and Ducktales.

Though an early release with limited content, I'm still convinced that everything there is pretty much perfect.
>>
>>4248885
I mean why don't they publish big-budget licensed *AAA* games of any kind now, like WB-Games does? They have so much material and they produce almost nothing but phone games and shovelware shit that nobody's heard of (excepting Kingdom hearts and a handful of other games). It's like they think they can be successful by just half-assing everything. They have tons of money, but they just spend it so stupidly, and they usually seem to mismanage / rush their developers. Last year they apparently even paid $147 million in fees just to shut themselves down:

>With a lack of growth in toy-to-game market and increasing developmental costs, in May 2016, Disney Interactive discontinued Disney Infinity and closed down the unit that developed Infinity, Avalanche Software. Also, the company ended all self-publishing efforts, bringing Disney Interactive Studios to an end. A discontinuation charge of $147 million for ending its console gaming business affected earning.

They put such an effort into making movies nowadays with Pixar and MCU and SW, but it's like they just stopped caring entirely about producing videogames, even though there is potentially an even larger market there. They could make so many good licensed AAA games off their Marvel / Star Wars IPs (as well as their own stuff) if they knew what they were doing.
>>
>>4248930
They don't need to, since their games top sales charts based on license alone.
>>
>>4248901
I just got a boxed copy with no manual for 15$. does anyone know how's the remake on PS3/360? Is it good as Ducktales?
>>
>>4249638
I enjoyed it a lot. It's gone from both stores now however, so hopefully you picked it up beforehand.
>>
>>4249638
The remake is more like a reimagining, controls and level design are very diferent, and it's not in 2D graphics, but 3D.
It's actually not bad though, but I didn't like it as much as the original.
>>
>>4249641
>It's gone from both stores now

Well shit...

Does anyone remembers Gargoyles on Genesis? I love how fast you move in the game
>>

Yeah they lost the rights or something. Typical digital bull shit.

I've heard some really good things about the Toy Story 3 game. Ever play that one?
>>
Why is Ducktales Remstered such a piece of shit?

The cutscenes/dialog? It's awesome since we hear the cartoon's voices and actually make sense of the different levels that we play as but man do they slow the game down.

The art style? The boring 2.5D look doesn't make up for the fact that the flash looking characters actually resemble the cartoon.

Music remix? Is it nostalgia that we prefer the 8 bit sounds?

The extras? Don't they add replayability?

The save feature? Is having the ability to save the cause we find this once challenging game now a boring mess?

The length? It's so short that it really should've included Ducktales 2 as a remaster as well and the retro versions?
