Post screenshots from retro games in 4k.
Most modern AMD/Nvidia cards can use VSR or DSR to run 4k even if your display is 1080p.
From there it may take a lot of fiddling to get things right depending on your emulator.
Working on N64 atm, PS1 next, Visual boy is a bitch to get it scaling past X4 while maintaining the aspect ratio.
Luckily FF7 PC's re-release runs 4k native.
MGS looks absolutely terrible in motion though, what with the textures and polygoms moving all around
Because you needed 4k pokemon in your life
VBAM scales the windows while maintaining it's aspect ratio
Wow it looks the same (actually not as good) as it does on real hardware and a proper display
Cancer.

Actually learned that bone village uses tiny polygons to detect where you're standing. You can see the teal dot on the ground to the right of cloud. Only learned of this by running the game at 4k

Take your hatred of fun somewhere else.

Retroarch has a PS1 core that supports fixing those issues. Give it a shot:

For some reason I can't get Mupen64 to open at all, RSP missing even though I've used it forever with what I had download, don't understand that one bit.
Probably too lazy to learn how to use Mupen64+ with it's lack of a simple installer/GUI

I'm going to guess that using that is not as simple as dropping in the dll to ePSXe?
