Did you know that the first Virtua Fighter had unused characters that were only discovered November 2016?
It's common knowledge Siba (aka, Majid or Majido) was intended to be Virtua Fighter's main character until scrapping him in favor of Akira, which explains why Akira's portrait on the cabinet art features a bearded man in a keffiyeh. He would later appear as Siba in the game Fighters Megamix.
Of much greater intrigue are the characters Jeffery Buckman and "Akira", both of who look astonishingly like early drafts for Tekken's Jack and Kazuya respectively. Jeffery's name is apparently based on Virtua Fighter designer Jeffrey Buchanan. In fight, his cap and shades can be knocked off. He looks almost exactly like Prototype Jack from Tekken 2.
Most interesting is Akira's early design. According to TCRF wiki, he might've been a separate character called Takeru, but it isn't confirmed. Curiously, his spiky hairstyle looks almost exactly like Kazuya Mishima's look.
According to some rumors, designers for Virtua Fighter jumped ship to Namco. These characters could've been the earliest inspiration for some of their other designs.

Such a shame that place is run by borderline autists.

Wow, who would've thought?

There's also an unused Kung Fu boss that uses durals moveset. The dural we got might have been a placeholder the devs ended up liking for whatever reason

>tfw I've reached a point where playing unfinished versions of old games and finding changes between builds is almost more fun than playing the finished games themselves
Was it autism?

No, it's called "getting actual creative hobby that isn't just mindlessly consuming media"

I wish that was all they did in TCRF, but sometimes they get obsessed with the most trivial of things.

No it doesn't.
