What are the most graphically impressive 16 and 32 bit JRPGs?
Easy
You're not even trying. Enjoy watching your tiny sprites try to emote.

SaGa Frontier 2. Game still looks amazing.

SaGa Frontier 2 is 32-bit
>>4225291
Okay Ray Charles, look at the OP again.

>32 bit
So PS1? Vagrant Story and Final Fantasy IX
Seiken Densetsu 3
Princess Crown
Energy Breaker's sprites have weird faces but other than that it's a looker. The last year or so of the SNES's life produced some beautiful JRPGs.

Looks cute.
>>4225260
I don't see anything impressive here. Putting low detail tiles together isn't exactly an accomplishment, they already did it on the NES.
>>4225446
WTF was up with the ending scene underwater?
>>4225446
Had no idea this existed. What is it about?
>>4225521
Grid based SRPG with decent depth.
The basic premise is that you try to restore your memory and meet people and stuff. There's a bunch of themes centering around consciousness, science/religion and morality, but nothing preachy.
It also has some Lufia references.

SaGa Frontier 2 looks washed out and low-detailed compared to LoM
Chrono cross.
>>4231252
Oh man I want those backgrounds in 4k

It's called water color paint.
