Is getting into a supergun a moneypit?

Only if you are buying the most popular titles. There are tons of games nobody wants that go for $20 or less. And you can sometimes get in contact with old arcade operators and get tons of PCBs for $5 each.

Is it a money pit? Not really. You can buy a complete supergun for less than $300. That's about the price of a typical video game console. Those aren't considered money pits. It only becomes one if you let it when you start deciding you also need five or six CRTs and adapters for every kind of controller under the sun.

The big questions are:
1. Can you afford it?
2. Does it bring you any joy?

1. i can afford it but i don't want to sink money into it. is the windy supergun the one to get? other recommended makers seem to have stopped making it like jnx.

2. hopefully it'll bring more joy than a modded ps3 with no games to play.

I have a windy supergun and it's a good model. Has CPS2 kick harness support build in wired for Neo-Geo DB15 whcih is easy to rig up yourself.

It's a nice box.

I think unless you're super into arcade stuff, I wouldn't bother with them. It's too expensive to get into, and boards are too much.

You take the rgb signal from the jamma connector on the board, connect it to the encoder, and output to a monitor/tv using s-video or rgb.
