What do you think of this /vr/? It can do 240p, 480i, and 480p
I don't think much of it at all. Am I supposed to care?

Why should I trust this?
Seems like an okay thing to have. Would keep me from having to switch inputs on my TV or force VGA mode. Would also free up my one VGA input for my retro PC.

Would be great if it ever gets past prototype stage.

Where can I buy?

You can buy them from HD retrovision in December when they come out

I think it looks like a picture.
Does anyone know what they use to convert RGB to YPbPr?
Why is the label in comic sans

A transcoder, most likely built around an LT6550 IC. I didn't know it would also convert VGA to 480p but in hindsight I see no reason it wouldn't. I'm sure it'll be more expensive than their super popular SNES and MD cables though considering all the switches it'll need. Will probably just stick with my original transparent egg box from back in the day.
How much is this going to cost? It would be a big help in getting my dreamcast andPS2to play nicely together on my bigger TV with component inputs.

How is this any better than just a normal VGA cable/box?

It sends both the SD and the ED signals over the same cables plus some displays don't have VGA inputs.
