>The best game in the series didn't even get a home console port.
What games are perfect that never had a decent home port or a port at all.
Do you have Battletoads?
Black Tiger. KILLER hack 'n slash, but never got a console version.

This game is extremely boring and dull. Console versions are way better.

The Punisher

Console toads are for plebs, arcade is way cooler, only bad part is the last stage/boss

It seems that the game wasn't finished as originally intended, as evidenced by the stage 2 boss. I'd have to guess that at some point there was meant to be a final stage that was a beat em up following the shmups level, ending with a fight against the Dark Queen. I just find it hard to believe that that they meant for it to end on such an odd stage and without the Dark Queen as the final boss.

Not retro but it does have a home console port now through Rare Replay on Xbox One.
I feel like the NES/Genesis game was the best in the series since it had more variety. Still a halfway point this and the original would've been ideal because the original lacked enough beat-em-up levels.
Seeing the Battletoads arcade game as a kid was awesome. Beat em up gameplay plus over the top cartoon violence was the perfect combination. I picked up a PCB of it a few years ago, but it'd be great to have a dedicated setup for it.

This had a Megadrive port.

>not retro
>bothers to mention it anyways

that one yellow bicycle helicopter game

Yeah but OP said
>never had a home console port at all
which is false.

It did arrive on every micro computer in typically European and awful fashion though. Which one would *you* rather play? They're all so uniquely terrible.

The Outfoxies has only been played by MAME freaks and like a dozen people in Japan. Never got a home port. It's a pretty decent Smash-Bros-before-Smash-Bros with dynamic stages and weapon pickups. I've tried shilling this to friends with little success, so maybe I'm just a freak, but I love it.

Cloak & Dagger never got a home port either. Surprised Atari never got around to putting this on the 800 or ST. There is an incredibly incomplete Atari 8bit prototype, though. Anyway, this one's a dual stick shooter with interesting objectives and scoring. I like the variety of silly elevator animations, which also reflected your performance.

Wasn't there an NES version?
>>4204634
Wasn't it released on the NES with another name as well? It was also terrible.
