How did the NES fourscore work technically?
I mean, the Famicom had two hard-wired controlelrs, so the console was clearly not designed for more.

Super Off Road and Nightmare on Elm Street are amazing in 4p.

There are also a bunch of Famicom exclusives that use it, as well as a 4p romhack of Battletoads.

Super Spike V'Ball with four players is also amazing. It's a lot like the Beach Volleyball minigame from Mario Party 4.
