Turn into a zombie right before the fight, vomit to kill a few monoeyes, then kill the rest with grenades. Don't go too far to the right or left when avoiding the monoeye shots or you'll trap yourself. Stay around the middle.

Last boss isn't too tough, just Slug Hop to abuse invincibility frames and jump in when he uses the breath/ acid projectile attack.

Metal Slug's pretty much the grapes of run n guns.

I thought it was just pretty at first and that's all it had going for it but man, once you start getting good at it your whole opinion goes one eighty.

It looks pretty, although not a fan of 30 fps

When i first saw metal slug in at the arcade i kinda liked it. A) because it dropped out of the blue and B) it looked kind of original and detailed despite the somewhat lame in-the-hunt-look.

Once the game hit home i started to hate it.
The frustrating stop-and-go gameplay, together with the sluggish 30fps controls made metal slug quickly unbearable What really kills it for me now is the religious, flamboyant worshiping. Decent Run & Gun start with quick controls and 60fps game play. Play Metal Slug 6 on atomiswave and see the difference.

How do you 'turn into a zombie' right before the fight? There is a guaranteed medkit drop right before the boss, and you can't progress without collecting it.

I think super probotector is more fun and has better athmosphere. So I prefer it over metal slug. Also best game of all time is vampire the masquerade bloodlines, nothing will ever change that.

Is the anthology collection on PS4 good? If not what is the most arcade accurate way of playing these games?

Interesting bug I encountered, not sure if any one else has yet:

If in vertical shoot em up section in the final stage of 3 you still have the astro slug, if you eject at precisely the end of the section, the game still thinks you're in the slug and your character will crash through the floor of the Mothership head first instead of the rebel missile blasting a hole through the floor.
