What does /vr/ think of ZZT and related games (like Megazeux, etc.)?

I've never been able to get the hang of it, which is a shame since it seems awesome.

The four stock worlds (Town, Caves, City, Dungeon) still hold up pretty well, and the level editor is surprisingly versatile with its custom-programmable entities.

The scene has died down, but I think it's still a game worth looking at.

Geek culture has always had a strong LGBT undercurrent. Think about it; even in the early 00's, nerddom was mostly made up of weird kids who didn't fit in with the jocks and cheerleaders. It makes sense that there'd be a disproportionate number of gay and trans geeks.
