How do you guys store your game cartridges? Currently I just use empty shoe boxes, and am looking for ideas.

Just on a shelf in these little plastic cases to protect from dust.
>>

>shoe boxes
In a world full of Imelda Marcoss that wouldn't work for me. I use large plastic boxes that I can put under beds, on top of cabinets, stack in storage, etc. Keeps them safe and ready for use as the developers originally intended. Being sold to shelf collectors. I lost my virginity decades ago and have an active sex life so there's no point using them as sexual wards.

i dont

I use those plastic snap together boxes
>>
>>4185139
You try too hard.
>>
>>4185076
For storage? Non-clear plastic totes.
For use/display? Universal Game Cases (UGC)
>>
>>4185076
I store SNES and N64 games as is in a drawer. Gameboy games are put in a small bag so I that I can place them somewhere else more easily.
Don't have a definitive place for my NES carts yet but I just keep them in the standard black sleaves they're usually with (if I don't have them at the moment then I order a few so that they're all covered).

I recommend the Summit Media Storage shelves made by Atlantic. Just about everything fits on them like a glove. I store NES, SNES, Genesis, and PS1 games all on the same unit, and still have a shelf or two leftover to display some amiibos.
>>
>>4185076
I use a shelf. Plus I buy custom cases for NES, SNES & N64 carts.
>>
>>4185076
I packed all my snes cases into a cardboard box a few years ago for a move and have kept them there ever since because of convenience. Even repaired the box a few times.

You can get shelves like pic related at WalMart for under $20.
The plastic cases run aprx. $1 each depending on how many you're willing to buy at once.

Everyone has a couple eyesores in their collections but spray painted carts anon?
>>
pencil boxes work very well for n64 games, if you can find a big wide one; i always used one for my games, you can fit 6 in it flat closed, or 20 standing up , 10 in the base and 10 in the lid. i decorated mine with taped on cutout bits from game magazines, ill post a pic if this thread is still around later, it should cute nostalgia some of you
>>
>>4185597
Not paint, unfortunately.
When we were kids, my cousin covered his carts in sharpie so he knew which ones were his.
When I aquired his collection a few years ago, it was too much hassle to clean off.
>>
>>4185583
Are those plastic cases re-used from VHS tapes?
>>
Sega Genesis and Famicom loose carts fit perfectly in cassette tape holders. Get them super cheap from Goodwill because nobody collects cassettes anymore.

They're some kind of generic game case. Possibly from a rellic mold when rentals were going on. I don't know.
They have tabs on the inside you chop off depending on what you put inside.
Pic related probably sucks.
>>
>>4185653
If they were better games it would be worth it to take a magic eraser to them but not for nba jam, monopoly and king of the monsters. If it was metal warriors or something you would have to clean it. Also.... why didn't your cousin just sharpie his initials in the cart like a normal idiot?
>>
>>4185269
I second this anon, I bought two and it's enough to house my collection for right now. The best part is that they're not enormous so having multiples is easy.

This.
Also, individusl cassette cases are great for handhelds.

I dunno. I'm pretty sure he's autistic or something. He was the "awkward" one growing up.
But, like you said, they're junk games and they still work fine, so I got half way through one and just said fuck it.
I'm not so bad I need them perfect. So long as they're not sticky or anything gross like that.

I put em in Ziploc bags and store them in the deep freezer.

Always loved these. Fits Supers and 64s

I use a couple of pic related to hold my cartridges in, the cassette sized ones work good for n64/genesis games, and the VHS sized ones work good for nes/snes games. You'd also be pretty hard pressed to not find one of these in your local thrift store.
>>

Those are great, but also pricey.

These don't have much room for growing but it fits most cartridge stuff pretty good. I use a wider set for PS2 and Xbox games, and a standard bookshelf for my GameCube, Wii, PS1, NES and PS3 collection.
